Mueller might be more independent than Lynch, but he's still a republican who has spent a lot of time around Washington. I'd be surprised if the outcome is much different than Hillary case.

You're comparing a handful of highly-biased righty news organizations run by an even smaller handful of righty corporate organizations to the entire rest of the media universe ranging from highly-biased lefty sources to completely objective sources like CSPAN and international sources which, while they have their own national bias, don't have a dog in our hunt.

It's like a Delawarean saying "well, you may travel the rest of the world but you don't have the full picture until you come to Delaware."

Is that a true statement? Perhaps, but it hardly matters.

And you're discounting the guarantee that this will continue to stay at the top of the news: Dump himself will keep it there with his increasingly deranged and ridiculous tantrums.

Its an apt comparison. Nixon had a lot of defenders thinking he was telling the truth, really up until the tapes got released where he was caught trying to pay people off and have the CIA obstruct the FBI. I'm assuming many of those people felt like idiots after that came out. One wonders if Trump defenders will still with him in a cult-like following or realize the error of their ways as well.

Tons of True Believers never stopped believing Nixon did nothing wrong. Pat Buchanan has been venting that bilge for 40 years. Many Republicans I know still believe "Nixon didn't do anything everybody else did -- he just got caught." They really have no inkling at the spectacular constitutional damage Nixon did.

But I don't think he's actually gaining any voters. He hasn't offered anything since taking office that he didn't offer on the campaign: same BS message, same "I'm an outsider" costume, same "I say my daughter has a hot bod just like you'd like to say!" low class slumming persona.

He's not losing or gaining anybody. Question is is he energizing everybody else to get up and go vote him and his cretin party out? I'd believe so but there is the precedent of 2004.

Philip Bump at the Post just flagged this Trump speech from June 7th, four days after Don Goldstone’s first contact with Don Jr and two days before the meeting at Trump Tower on June 9th.

In June 2016 Trump says he is preparing for a press conference where he'll drop all the bad stuff about Hillary that he has. This happens just as his operatives, including Uday, have arranged to meet with the Russians for the now admitted purpose of receiving bad stuff about Hillary, in the context of the Russians preferring a Dump win.

It actually wouldn't bother me that much. They have different values than us(with respect to gun control) and I completely understand that. I don't think they have any ill intentions towards us and it wouldn't be taken that way by me. I would like to see us have much stronger ties with both countries.

Lost in all of this was McCain saying he thought the Senate Health Care Bill was pretty much DOA. The only way that passes now is if they go full bore and cut Medicaid completely. There are rumors of them trying to add in a provision to let States opt out completely anyways...so just rip off the bandaid and give Rand Paul and his group of psychopaths what they want!

I think this is well beyond rumors -- so much so that they were grilling Cruz on this and basically telling him to his face he was lying about his scheme to split healthy and unhealthy pools and force the latter into failure.

Lord knows about McCain. One day he's critical of DontCare and the next he's refusing to give an opinion and just generally spaced out.

Mitch just suspended the August recess. The more he can keep the constituents away from his members the better.
