The agenda is that of the Republican House. Neither Trump or Bannon have enough political know-how to operate in Washington, and Trump is mostly there to blunder around and provide cover.

That's the real question isn't it: why? The how and the who is just scenery for the public. Trump, Pence, Flynn, Sessions, keeps 'em guessing like some kind of parlor game, prevents 'em from asking the most important question: why? Why was herpa derped? Who benefited? The House passed the No Sanctuary for Criminals Act.
Those three are straight-up-Trumpy campaign.

They spend a cycle reporting on an "attack" on him, he immediately grabs his rattle, and then they have two more cycles reporting his response and then the reaction to that. Since the reaction is bound to include another "attack," the Echo Chamber has invented perpetual motion.

Posters have been saying since the election that it is congress, not trump, that is the real danger here and should be watched. But to suggest that that it's an intentional distraction by either trump or his handlers is just a denial of their natural idiocy, whether it's Bannon or Trump.

Bannon is a slightly easier sell but when you stop and look at some of the stuff Bannon actually does appear to believe in then the question as to whether he is or is not manipulating Dump becomes moot -- if Bannon is to be taken at his word about what he's trying to accomplish he is too moronic to consider seriously.
It does leave the possibility that Bannon is like Jones and is merely a stage performer who has found a product. Possible. Breitbart has made him money. But IINM Bannon came from Wall Street were he would have made far more fleecing far more wealthy rubes.
So that leaves open that Trump and Bannon are just dupes of Ryan et al, who have the real agenda, their usual revolting neofeudal dictatorship. Certainly they always point to that as their magnetic north. Certainly they deceive and dissemble to achieve their aims. But are they capable enough to lead Dump by that narcissistic ring in his nose?

During my long drive home a few days ago, I had this thought. Does POTUS #46 get his/her face carved on Mt. Rushmore during the term in office, or will the public be willing to wait until after the term is at least over? I mean seriously, how good are you going to look as #46? Won't #46 pretty much be able to order the mint to print c-notes with their own likeness on them and have them delivered by the bale to the White House, with the media and public delivering a collective "whatever" after #45?

I have no problem believing that those on the hill are manipulating an outcome in a reactive sort of way. But I'm not convinced the GOP has ever been able to lead Trump or his strongest supporters by the nose. He has easy to predict triggers, though, I'll give you that.
