POTUS 45.12: Dan, does it take courage when encountering the covfefe?

Re: POTUS 45.12: Dan, does it take courage when encountering the covfefe?

Just out of curiosity with those 82 and 86 days, did those happen to fall during the summer?

Hate to break it to you, but the mainstream press is a dinosaur. People don't trust them anymore, especially with manipulative edits and desperate attempts, sometimes crossing the line into unethical, to smear anything that doesn't fit the agenda. Also, they're no longer the only game in town, as you're seeing more independent outlets that do actual teleprompter-free journalism getting into the game. Jerome Corsi now has access. I'm sure a representative of TYT has sought access. Breitbart is on the rise.

All you are saying is that there is media out there who don't bother to ask questions, and take don at face value. Some of them are sources for totally false news that don thinks are true.

Yea, we need a new "4th Estate" that is JUST a propaganda arm and nothing else. Hardly independent- they have a rather obvious agenda, just like you do.

BTW, when you say "people" - just say "me and some other people"- as I still trust the non-editorial news, as do a majority of posters here.

Taking press briefings from YouTube without follow up questions is no better than just reading the briefing. So it seems as if there's a part of the population that is too lazy to read, and just want their news spoon fed the them.

*Shrug* Google found me that limited info. They don't provide MLB-esque advanced stats on press briefings.

Although an ELIAS type database sounds right up Alex Jones' wheelhouse. :p "Q: How many 'librul' media were ****ed off at 2pm Tuesday daily press briefings when the sky is overcast and Donald Trump is turtling a deuce because he forgot where the mens room was? A: All of them!"

Re: POTUS 45.12: Dan, does it take courage when encountering the covfefe?

How often did Obama take questions at the DPB? How did that compare with his predecessors?

I seem to remember it being either weekly or at least fairly regularly.

From a politico article in President Obama's 41st month (May 2012)

1. Obama is doing just enough press conferences -- to say he’s doing enough just press conferences. At this point in his presidency, George W. Bush did 67. Obama has done 68. Winning!

He is, however, doing more solo flights than the downright hermetic Bush, who conducted a grand total of 11 solo press conferences at this point in his presidency; a whopping 56 were joint availabilities with world leaders, which are a lighter lift.

Obama has done 30 alone, 38 in tag-team fashion.

Over the same period Bill Clinton did 116 total (40 solo, 76 joint); George H.W. Bush was the most accessible POTUS with 125 (76 solo, 49 joint).

The takeaway? The most accessible president was a one-termer.

You did a very good job of describing the mainstream press when Obama first came into office, and then just crossed out and replaced the time and President to try to fit your narrative. I give you the real definition of a joke conference; please cite where anything like this has happened under Trump: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hPDmeEuII0c

We already have that. Before, the "foreign intelligence" was really us going through a hop to loophole the propaganda outlawed following WWII and re-authorized through the NDAA. May I also remind you that mainstream media is a monopolistic "trust": Over 90% of media is controlled by 6 companies, all of which collude during press briefings to get their stack of questions out there. It's about time for independents to stand up, especially since the medium is elastic.

I'd also be curious as to what you believe is my agenda is.

BTW, when you say "people" - just say "me and some other people"- as I still trust the non-editorial news, as do a majority of posters here.

Funny thing is, trust in the mainstream media is at a record low. And this is coming from Gallup as well, regardless of any beliefs about the sample; that's fairly irrelevant to this discussion. If anything, you should be the one that is making the clarification.

They certainly aren't lazy enough to tweet-reply to the President, or other government entities. I bet he's also replying, too. Trump's going right to the people, no longer giving the mainstream dinosaur the chance to place the spin they've been able to do with past Presidents. That's a heck of a lot more transparent than anything in our history. What you see is now what you get. No hanky-panky.

Re: POTUS 45.12: Dan, does it take courage when encountering the covfefe?

So Spicy is out. Press briefings cannot be recorded. There hasn't been a POTUS interview in weeks, and even longer since his last press briefing. And the Senate is writing a super-secret healthcare bill that no one knows about.

So much for being *way* more transparent than Obama.

Yeah well Obama once had a private phone conversation so it is just business as usual ;)

Thought maybe there'd be a second generation source on this one. Hypothesis is that the gap is during a regular government recess or "lame duck" period, which is when you'd expect there to be a lapse. Essentially looking to make something out of nothing in order to attack Trump.

Seriously...why do you guys engage the Breitbot?

Fans of performance art. But not the same performance art as he's into, because we're not watching Alex Jones.

It isnt performance art...he obviously believes what he is saying. He isnt Andy Kauffman and pretending he is only ruins all of our reading experiences. If I want the News According to Jones I will go to Infowars.

Bannon on the lack of press briefings, "Sean got fatter." It must be such a treat working with this group...

What's the joke? "I'd rather have a German division in front of me than a French one behind."

You need to put a little warning before this stuff. I almost spit chocolate lilk all over the keyboard.

How long do you think it takes to jury rig those little tidbits? I watched/listened to both the hearings live and have a friend who could be a Breitbot telling me there is no Russian influence (could be a Flaggy clone, they obviously are drinking the same Koolaid, have almost identical responses). I can get ignoring the Dems but a couple of the GOP big wigs came out and asked about Russia and both Comey (the Satan) and Sessions (the Trump mouthpiece) said this was a significant problem that shouldn't be ignored. That it was bad it was being lost in the Trump hunt. How does one reconcile a paranoid hatred of the Commies/Russia 12 months ago to the Russians will give us evidence they are innocent/ I see nothing? That has to be the most significant flip flop in all of politics and I can't figure out how they overcame the extreme paranoia to convince them to see nothing so fast.
