POTUS 45.12: Dan, does it take courage when encountering the covfefe?

You'd have to prove he was lying. You can say you don't recall all you want.

He's on the record now. If there's contradictory evidence, the Mueller or Congress will find it.

Tough to do. You have to prove he knew and hadn't forgotten. This is a total Stonewall.

This is how Saint Ronnie skipped out on Iran-Contra.

It's a passive stonewall, and it's almost impossible to break unless you actually find overwhelming evidence in which case testimony hardly matters anyway.

Re: POTUS 45.12: Dan, does it take courage when encountering the covfefe?

So, how are you able to blatantly not answer questions and not exert executive privilege at the same time? Seems to me you'd be in contempt of Congress for doing that and subject to charges.

It can only be contempt if Congress thinks it is. But R's have been handing more and more power to the President- starting with Bush, and while protesting about decisions, even to Obama. Obama was forced to use EO's due to the total lack of action from congress, lead by R's. don has taken that, and just run with it- and extends it to make up new rules. It will take congress to challenge Sessions' non-privilege privilege. And it's going to be a while until they will.

Heck, don is out there flaunting rules that are directly in the Constitution, and the reason? Because. (the answer to the Emolument's challenge- they don't apply to him)

It's pretty stunning to see Congress just give away their position in the Government like that. I guess they can claim "it wasn't my fault"- when it's actually their JOB to do this.

don can do that.

Nobody else can.

And jeffy was pretty careful not to actually say "executive privilege"- as that would open a whole new ball of string. They have made up this. It's up to congress to accept or challenge it. And as long as it's more about R vs D, it will go on. R's are happy to let go of their congressional power to stay in charge.

You know the Government of Plutocrats (GOP).

It becomes contempt of Congress when the letter behind the name changes to a "D."

Nothing will happen with this Congress.

Re: POTUS 45.12: Dan, does it take courage when encountering the covfefe?

Then can we stop these worthless hearings because the GOP is using them as a smokescreen to do real damage to this country...

Re: POTUS 45.12: Dan, does it take courage when encountering the covfefe?

But.............but...............there's nothing there. Why is Trumpy so concerned about this investigation into Russian meddling, if there was no collusion, as he says?

Meh... it's possible Trump heard a story about that very thing here. All Bill and Hil did was borrow some money to buy a couple hundred acres in the Ozarks, hoping to make a buck.

Special counsel gets involved, and next thing you know Bill is anxiously parsing the meaning of two and three letter words in front of the Senate.

You're the ones bringing up the whole Russia thing, especially after trying to convince everyone before the election that there's no meddling.

Re: POTUS 45.12: Dan, does it take courage when encountering the covfefe?

More groundwork.

Nearly 200 Democratic lawmakers, including House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, have filed a lawsuit alleging that President Donald Trump has violated the Constitution’s “foreign emoluments clause” by retaining interest in his business empire.

Guess we know what Article I of the impeachment articles will be in 2019.

contempt isn't perjury. If he refuses to answer questions (and "I don't remember" is a valid answer) and fails to provide a legally valid reason, they can hold him in contempt.

They won't, because (R), but they could. His performance yesterday was horse hockey.

What he didn't recall can't be contempt but when he refuses to answer and states he is refusing if there was no R and only impartial judgement it would be contempt.

He was well hooked when who ever it was who asked him to present hard copy evidence and why could he not produce this as he should have been knowledgeable of what he was going to site.

Full court press coverage for the shooting this AM. Wow is all I can say

Re: POTUS 45.12: Dan, does it take courage when encountering the covfefe?

I have just been informed that the alleged shooter at the Republican baseball practice is someone who apparently volunteered on my presidential campaign. I am sickened by this despicable act. Let me be as clear as I can be. Violence of any kind is unacceptable in our society and I condemn this action in the strongest possible terms. Real change can only come about through nonviolent action, and anything else runs against our most deeply held American values.
My hopes and prayers are that Representative Scalise, congressional staff and the Capitol Police Officers who were wounded make a quick and full recovery. I also want to thank the Capitol Police for their heroic actions to prevent further harm.

Republicans don't conceal and carry guns everywhere? I thought guns were one of their pillar ideals.

They should be the safest politicians anywhere.
