That surprised me a bit. A few of the Senators I had seen say things that were questioning have climbed back on the wagon with a vengence. McCain had been saying there were grave concerns then today blathered on about CLinton? UUtF was that about?

I wonder how people can talk themselves out of hearing (or that they said) something so easily.

The President of the United States doesn't have to "know" anything. That's what his employees are for. Trump said he would hire the best people. What he's hired is a clown car of incompetents.

I look forward to the day when this family crawls under the same rock Palin is now beneath. Between them they personify the two flavors of Ugly American: Hillbilly Grifter and 1% Sociopath.

A coworker pointed out another bombshell easily missed. Comey said they expected Sessions to recuse himself. :eek:

Trump lawyers are saying that the President never suggested to Comey he stop investigating anyone. So, full denial.

This is my new favorite thing in the world.

White House principal deputy press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders didn’t hesitate to rebut Comey when asked by a reporter during a briefing on Thursday.

“No, I can definitely say the president is not a liar,” Sanders said. “I think it’s frankly insulting that that question would be asked.”

If Trump admits to Comey's charge of being a liar, does that make the rest of his lies more believable?

Probably not. However, it's interesting that only one of them claimed their were tapes. Seems to me the person who claimed there were tapes would need to produce said tapes to prove his case.

That and despite Ms. Huckabee Sanders assertions the credibility of Comey is greater than the credibility of Trump no matter how hard he cries.

Remarkably, 36% still respond that they think Trump is honest.

I can see continuing to vote for him because pappy beat it into you that the Ds are evil.

I can even see approving of his performance in some spiteful way.

But thinking he's honest? Really?

I don't think 36% of Americans are directly on Trump's payroll, and those who aren't actually believe Trump is honest. That's 5150 territory.

Does her job require an oath? I don't think lying for the President when your "my" (the people's) employee is right.

My take home was when they were asking about the Russians interfering in the elections. First he said that is was a flat out lie in calling t false news and all Americans, no matter what party, should be concerned they had such a comprehensive plan. Then as things went in further they asked other than asking to back of Flynn had Trump ever asked or expressed concern regarding the Russian interference (asked a couple of different ways) and the answer was a flat "no." W

SO either the President is completely deluded (not out of the realm of possibility) or this is really screwed up!

On the live feed I was watching they were saying there should be bingo cards or drinking games for-- vindicated, is not under investigation!!!!, Comey is the leaker!!!!11!!!, Comey is the LIAR!111!1 Immed response from a ton of people would be not fair- they would be soused before they started. Funnier because then they came out reading the statement with just those things. So the guy showed up an hour plus late, read a statement they pre-submitted and left without taking questions. I was in stitches

Denial is the strongest of drugs in humans. No matter how much I understand the psychology of it I am still astonished people can be so self deluding. I have a very intelligent friend (relatively, except for politics) who lives in a pocket of wildly right wing country. He believes Palin was vilified and crucified by the liberal press, that all Muslims are bad and evil and need to be suspect, that Hillary and Bill have an evil, empire that has multiple tentacles that allow them to control everything and there are reasons why Trump should be excused for his behavior. No excuses- he has 2 degrees and has traveled internationally. I think the Frontal part of his brain is atrophied.
