POTUS 45.1 - You take the high road and I'll take the low road

Re: POTUS 45.1 - You take the high road and I'll take the low road

Not sure if I'm up to date, but I was taught it is capitalized when used with a proper noun, as in UND President Mark Kennedy, or President DJ Trump. Otherwise it's not capitalized ... unless in reference to the President of the US.

http://grammarist.com/style/president/

President is capitalized when it comes immediately before the name of a president of a country. It is not capitalized when it refers to a president but does not immediately precede the name.

...

In general, it’s safer not to capitalize president unless it applies to the leader of a country.

There is no good reason to capitalize presidential, except when it begins a sentence or is part of a multiword proper noun such as Presidential Award for Math and Science.

So: President Trump is a liar. The 45th president is a moron.

And we see who's been buying into Sean Spicer's rants against the media.

Not at all.

I'm ****ed that the WHPC is wasting valuable time on "measuring" (i.e. crowd sizes) and not challenging what is really going on.

Ask Spicer to explain (defend?) yesterday's actions.

Arguing about who had more at an inauguration (and by which mechanism) is as worthless as arguing about if the 1961 Yankees would beat the 1998 Yankees.

You don't know what he's going to do? Full steam ahead. Pipelines galore for a technology that if it doesn't start to disappear soon will destroy the planet.

DAPL? Yes.

Keystone? Remember, that's coming from Canada. International trade is a Trump dog whistle. He'll want something from Ottawa. "Dealmaker" and all, ya-know.

Re: POTUS 45.1 - You take the high road and I'll take the low road

I worry with all these pieces being posted today that it's going to get him mad at her and he's going to do something to her. Either literally make her post that everything is great or keep her away....I don't know. These posts are making him seem like a real ****** canoe and I have a feeling he will blame her for that.

I'm really curious what the 6 stars mean. I've just never heard a colorful phrase that included "canoe." Is this a Minnesota thing?

Says the guy focusing on 10 minutes of a 75 minute press conference.

Re: POTUS 45.1 - You take the high road and I'll take the low road

What'd Trump do by Executive Order yesterday? Who'd he meet with? What foreign policy statements did he make?
What's on Trump's agenda today? What Orders does he plan to act on today?

How many of you honestly know those answers?

Instead, everyone knows he spent 10 minutes talking about "illegals voting" last night. Folks, sorry. That no longer matters. But it is an awesome distraction that keeps the media in a tizzy.

This is advice well taken.

Re: POTUS 45.1 - You take the high road and I'll take the low road

Hmmm... some are saying Comey will stay as FBI director... Trump getting in bed with the goblins? I think we can kiss indicting Hillary goodbye...

Um. You now realize that stuff was all bullsh-t, right? Right?

It was something to enrage your crowd to the polls. It was entirely a fabrication. It worked, so now it's over.

The guy who thinks everyone else is being led around by the nose is the guy being led around by the nose. Too funny for words. Too bad so many will suffer now because of it.

But at least you'll be one of them.

No.

That's all I knew of that press conference from the morning media until I went on my own and dug for the rest it.

Very few do that dig, and that's a problem.

Re: POTUS 45.1 - You take the high road and I'll take the low road

I like how Trump is a full blown fascist and yet Flaggy thinks Obama was more likely to send him to a death camp or whatever.

Re: POTUS 45.1 - You take the high road and I'll take the low road

Folks,

Trump is damaged goods. Anything that "hurts the brand" he goes Pavlovian against. He can't help himself.

Worse?

Right now the media is damaged goods. They can't believe, despite their best efforts, the man they set up to knock down beat their preferred candidate. They gave him all the free PR during the campaign thinking he'd use it to self-immolate. Instead, he won. And now, like any good train wreck, all they can see is the damage (that they wrought).

Meanwhile, while the media is infatuated with crowd sizes, and voting tallies, that just don't matter any more because Mr. Trump is President Trump, they are failing to do their real job.

How do I know this?

What'd Trump do by Executive Order yesterday? Who'd he meet with? What foreign policy statements did he make?
What's on Trump's agenda today? What Orders does he plan to act on today?

The media needs to get over their butthurt and get back to reporting on the business of the country that the President is doing while they examine photos from the Washington mall.

You're incredibly wrong on this. The votes thing was a small link on the side of most all "leftish" sites yesterday while everything you think wasn't reported was front and center. Driving to work this morning NPR covered every bit of what you think no one knows about. Whatever Fox is telling you is still Bulls#1t, just like it used to be.

Re: POTUS 45.1 - You take the high road and I'll take the low road

It does matter if you don't what he's done because the media is preoccupied in a "measuring contest" with Spicer over crowd sizes.

It matters for the solid reasons you state that we can't be distracted by the content of his lies. However, it is a very important thing that Trump and his administration will stand there and simply say 2 + 2 = 5.

All politicians have stretched the truth, chosen different angles to view facts from, been disingenuously selective in which facts they cite and which they ignore. But very few, and those never at this high a level, have just told bald faced lies and then gone nuclear on anyone fact-checking them. Even Fox and Hate Radio have only done this by implication, tweaking their coverage to insinuate falsehoods but rarely uttering demonstrably, obviously false statements. They probably wanted to, but they couldn't effectively because their lie would be exposed and undercut what they were trying to achieve with it. It was self-destructive to baldly lie.

Trump is completely different. The President of the United States is an actual, clinical pathological liar. And our politics is now so broken that the vast majority of people who voted for him either don't think it matters or deliberately ignore it, simply because they voted for him.

That has never happened before so overtly and totally. The only place it has been visible before is the conspiracy media. It's not that they try to hide or divert attention from the truth. It's that they simply define truth as whatever is needed in that particular instant for their advantage.

This is new. One political party has stopped acknowledging empirical reality. And the voters rewarded them for it. By the correspondence theory of truth, about 30% of our fellow citizens are either irrational or no longer acknowledge that anything is objectively true of false.

Good God: the Post-Structuralists won. This is what I always warned Dr. Mrs. would come of Derrida.

Fox and Friends made sure to have Kellyanne Conway on this morning. Reason? So they could all laugh about "Alternative Facts" and blame the whole thing on Chuck Todd.

Fox News isn't news.

Re: POTUS 45.1 - You take the high road and I'll take the low road

Also, I see that the New York Times has used the word 'lie' in one of their top headlines. Good for them for finally calling Trump out on what he's doing: Lying.

"Alternative facts" are lies.

This should have started months ago. Shame on the big networks for letting it go until now. Shame on the right wing media for creating the environment where we have 50 million Flags. That was a betrayal of the public trust.

Re: POTUS 45.1 - You take the high road and I'll take the low road

Some of you guys seriously need to pull your heads out of your asses.

don started a major battle with the media, over things that he has provided zero evidence over, OR the evidence is contrary to what he says. he's accused CNN of being false news.

It's their JOB to report what he is doing.

So when there's constant conflict with the organization that is supposed to report every little thing you do, well, naturally, it's going to get ugly. Do you expect that the press is going to take it lying down when the press secretary outright accuses them of lying when it's really obvious they are not?

If you didn't hear what don did with the EO's- YOU need to find a new source. It was pretty darned clear in the news I heard, and they pointed out that all of them were standard issue Republican Presidential things (hiring freeze (except military), abortion funding freeze), except for pulling out of the TPP and meeting with many Union officials. The reason nobody talks much about it- it's not shocking nor surprising.

It IS surprising for the President to tell Congress that there was voter fraud on a massive scale, all without any evidence of such. Again, thanks, don, for undermining our government. You just made it clear that you won't step down from office no matter what happens in the vote in 2020.

Sicatoka- it's really ironic that you keep telling D's that they lost "because" over and over and over, yet when don takes his beef about votes TO CONGRESS, it's old news and we are supposed to not pay attention??? Seriously? You've got to be kidding.

As for my earlier post- the two men, Painter and Eisen, are working on payments that don is getting from countries which is a very clear violation of the Constitution's Emoluments Clause, since he refuses to assign a blind trust to run his company. Their goal ISN'T to impeach the president, it's to make sure that it does not have to happen in the future. And if you think that congress is so weak that they won't stand up to him for this kind of violation, well, thanks for voting such weak members of congress.

don is bringing this on himself. It's not the media that's doing it.

Then NBC Radio News (KFYR Bismarck), CBS Radio News (KFGO Fargo), and ABC Radio News (WDAY Fargo), must all be "leftish". I heard them all lead with "measuring" yesterday and a just a mention of the "Mexico City" policy on just one (think it was CBS).
