POTUS 45.0: It was the best of times. It was the worst of times.

Who is denying it? Seriously.

As far as I can tell, getting people active and interested is STEP ONE in fixing the problem. Thanks to the protests, there are many more people who will likely be more active in the upcoming elections.

To me, seems like bringing up information that everyone knows about, is being addressed live, etc- just distracts from what the administration is doing live.

The denial of truth and facts just makes more people mistrust government even more. Great. That's all we really need- more reason to mistrust EACH OTHER- since that is exactly what our government is.

I think that politics/government is no different than any other interest. It obviously can have a much larger impact on our lives than say sports, but I think the psychology behind how much attention people pay to it is the same.

No, I'm stating why the loss happened.

No one likes hearing the truth about why a loss happened, especially when they're in denial about it. But the first step to fixing a problem is admitting it.

No, you're stating the result in a phrasing that makes it seem like you're making a point when you're really just stating the patently obvious.

Re: POTUS 45.0: It was the best of times. It was the worst of times.

I agree. Leave the kid out of it. Seriously. I know there was some uproar about Melania staying in New York with Barron, but honestly, I now feel that's the best place for him at this time. Her, too.

That being said, there is a Barron Trump public figure Facebook page. Which I have to believe was created and being run by some Trump minion. Someone is co-opting his likeness and that's just not right as I feel it opens the kid up for more ridicule. The Trump diehards are yelling about leaving the kid alone yet pushing out their thoughts/beliefs/whatever through his Facebook page. I just think that's wrong.

Not only that, but we had that exact conversation right after the election. It's nothing new or earth shattering.

Re: POTUS 45.0: It was the best of times. It was the worst of times.

Props to Chelsea Clinton for defending Barron Trump.

I know there are Dems who claim we need to fight fire with fire and not play by two sets of rules, but when it comes to this I think we absolutely should take the high road. Yes, I know the right is utterly disgusting when it comes to dragging in family members, and I know they'll never stop -- cruelty is in their DNA. But this is something we just need to turn the other cheek on. Minors are off limits, always.

It worked for the Tea Party. They started with [much smaller] protests and then they got people elected into local politics all over the country in the 'Tea Party Wave', including our wonderful Governor Paul LePage.

what is the deal with Baron? I haven't seen/heard anything about him other than the peekaboo and then people posting about how he should be off limits. I've always assumed he would be left alone.

I assume somebody somewhere said something mean once, which in the RWNJ mind means every liberal is always doing it. :p

BTW, Trump is a wonderful reflection of the right media when it comes to those hypergeneralizations. He's the quintessence of that knee-jerk, thoughtless broad-brush painting which the righty media has been using on their captives for 30 years.

No, essentially, what you doing is no deeper than simply stating THAT the loss happened.

If you haven't read it, this is a great guide for co-opting the Tea Party strategy (which itself was co-opted from the 60s anti-war and civil rights movements).

Literally every liberal should read it.

Nah, LePage won because of who his opponents were. I think even after Baldacchi's disastrous tenure a decent democrat beats him.

As long as it isn't "Rules For Radicals". According to our future HUD secretary, that book makes me a Lucifer-worshipper or some other borderline insane crap.

Thank God (or FSM, your choice) that only one side does that. I'm especially thankful that this type of thinking(sic) never occurs on this board.

Do you really not see the difference between a bunch of eejits on a message board and the press?

Re: POTUS 45.0: It was the best of times. It was the worst of times.

Trump was right. Marco Rubio is a *****.

Senator Marco Rubio will support Rex W. Tillerson for secretary of state, ending the threat to his confirmation.

How the heck did he win re-election, though?

That's the thing I don't get about LePage, Snyder, and Brownback. They've all been exposed as morons who are tanking their states, yet IINM they all won re-elections. What the actual f-ck?

The irony is both sides' activists consider Alinsky their spiritual father. He essentially wrote The Prince for grassroots activism. It's a rule set that any player can use.
