Potntial Destinations for D1 Hockey Teams

Re: Potntial Destinations for D1 Hockey Teams

I don't know what the rule on playing up is for D2s but over the years there have been rumors that Stonehill and St Anselms have been exploring the possibility. I've heard Assumption mentioned too. I think if it is allowed it would actually make sense for the NE-10 Hockey league to move up to D-1 as a group and form another league. It would also have the benefit of increasing the places for teams to upgrade over time. Bentley and AIC might eventually be attracted to a D1 NE10 Hockey conference too. They are members for most or all other sports. So that league could have potentially 8 teams, AIC Assumption Bentley Stonehill St Mikes St Anslems Southern New Hampshire, & Franklin Pierce all in a pretty compact area. Merrimack and Lowell are also in that league for other sports (I think Lowell is going D1 soone though) but I doubt they would go back.

If AIC can do it.... I do wonder who will be the 12th in the AHA.
