You thought wrong. There have been a couple repeat winners in back-to-back seasons.

Isn't there a rule that contestants had to have posted at least once in the past year? There are several contestants who have not done so, for example GLM in this thread.

Yeah I screwed that one up. I clicked his name and saw a bunch of activity....but it wasn't his own activity.

Luckily, there were already like 30 people at the end of the list who have no chance...so leaving one anonymous poster out won't hurt the integrity of the PotY brand. :)
