I also think that Poser of the Year would be something like leadership of a trade association: once a person has been elected, they are no longer on any future ballots and instead take on an emeritus status. The idea is not to "prevent" them from winning again; it is to make sure that "new blood" continues to be rotated into the position.

I approve just because I want to be in the running and I have like 4,000 more posts to be close to that. It will be a few years before that.

You can do it. What else are you going to do while you are sitting there in class with the students? You're not going to try and TEACH them, are you?

And remember it's the top 100 ACTIVE posters, so if someone doesn't make a post in 2013, and is in the top 100 overall, they are not eligible next year. We always lose a few posters that way. Or if they get BANNINATED and their posting records are removed. :)

That or we just expand the voting pool to top 120 or 160.

Indeed. The 100th entrant into the tournament (dxmnkd316) was the 118th overall poster before all the DQs.

Did GLM quit when he went legit? ;)

I believe he did, as did Ciskie (mostly) when he went legit.

I've heard Ciskie's broadcasts are like an audio version of Donald talking about UAA. Just non-stop butthurt about screwjobs and terrible referees. :)

That's the worst part of his whole career. I listened to a game or two when he was starting out. It was fairly balanced (considering he was supposed to be a homer announcer, per the biz). Then he went all wharrgarbl. Sonmor (MN) is more balanced than Ciskie. And I hated Sonmor's announcing.
