The only way I win is if I deserve it. I'll follow Hoven's guidelines. I might make a tweak here and there (I have no idea...he hasn't e-mailed me the info yet), but it won't be the travesty of justice going on right now.

Maybe my memory is failing...I thought one of the guidelines was a form of the 22nd Amendment so to speak, once elected Poser of the Year in any year, said person then took on emeritus status and was no longer eligible for future elevation. If that were the case, then there'd be no reason at all for you to be upset for not being on this year's ballot (Brenthoven also was not put on this year's ballot for exactly the same reason).
That's one of the problems if it isn't clearly written down where it is accessible to all. The operative understanding, and again I easily could be wrong, was that the current POTY was responsible to see that the election of the subsequent POTY took place.
Is this last sentence one of the guidelines, or not? and where can one find them? or is this another of those "traditions" that earned JDUBBS1280 his nomination??

B) Old Pio should have known enough based upon prior years that the field consists of the top 100 posters by post count. The basic rules get stated in the PotY thread's first post each year, and the voting rules for "winning" each round are stated in each poll thread.
C) I doubt anyone would miss the contest if it went away, but there is the attitude that if it's going to be done, do it right.
A) You can win multiple titles. It's already happened at least twice.

Fine by me. I'll delete those polls and let someone else run it then. What you are describing involves more work than I signed up for.
Though frankly I'll be really surprised if the results are any different, if you look at who is leading now.....

Yeah, I don't think he had any of the big time D-I posters listed. Dirty's a perennial show. Brent should win again. The Commie might even make it to round three.Believe me, they'll be different.

Heck, I only made it as far as I did because of some tournament luck. I was very surprised to see some of the perennials not there.

I respectfully submit that there also should be a special category for trolls, even if they aren't in the top 100: that's why you saw HokyDad, JDUBBS1280, and Osorojo as candidates in what had been this year's balloting before Dude Love volunteered to re-do it. They all had pretty decent vote totals too.

Poser of the Year doesn't mean the poster who is most annoying/hated wins or is deserving of the award.

And PoTY is anything you want to make of it. PoTY can be someone you hate, it can be a popularity contest, it can be a prank on someone (see: the campaigning some posters do), etc.
