Poop There It Is: Cyclospora Edition

I'm surprised no one has started a thread on this yet. This parasite is freaking me out a bit. And thanks to DOGE and RFK Jr. the ability to figure out where this is coming from and how best to contain it is not there any more. I just threw out some strawberries today. Going to stick with cooking vegetables and eating chocolate cake. What have you guys heard in your areas? I know it's pretty bad in Michigan.

Apparently it is mostly around SE Michigan, but I don't think anyone truly knows. You hear on the news warning people about eating uncooked fruit and veggies, but that's it. No tracking, no specifics. Just another total failure from the Federal government and I am unsure if the idiots around here have the braincells to rub together and figure out it is the Feds and not the State that tracks this.

wash your dang hands. At least that's my understanding, but I've not looked into it much.

As a resident of SE Michigan, I have at least 2 people in my circle that have confirmed they have it and that they've lost at least 10 pounds in a few days and they don't recommend it as a weight loss strategy.

I wonder if I had it back in May. I spent Mother's day weekend losing 12 pounds in 4 days, but thought it was something that spread like a cold as there were a few families at the elementary school that sounded like they had similar illnesses back then.

My wife's friend got it ... and she lives in California where supposedly there were zero cases.

Yeah, no nation wide tracking whatsoever.

She actually wore a diaper because she feared she wouldn't reach a bathroom in time whenever it came calling. That's how "explosive" it is.

We managed to escape, but did call our store about the bagged lettuce, and then i cleaned everything with soap and water.

The nerve wracking part is an upcoming cruise.
