Took my mom to get her second vaccination shot today. We got there 30 minutes early and were in and out of there before her actual scheduled time. Was able to have lunch with her and make it home in time to catch BU play another 4pm game. I like 4pm games an Saturday! HHT for me.

I know we had games. No idea who won pond hockey and I can't dredge up the mmph to care so pffft hockey table.

I am dying to get out and garden. It snowed again today. I have seeds. I am waiting.
 
Evening, Lodge. Supposed to have snow today, but storm shifted. 30 min north? 8 inches. My area? Inch, maybe, but then sun melted it. Made for a quiet Sunday for the weekly get-together at the local brewery. The crew that meets up were about the only ones there at the time. The...normalcy was appreciated.

Were you able to get in as a caretaker/companion?
 
My wife was able to get me an appointment for the COVID-19 vaccibe at the stroke of midnight today when I became eligible. Took her over 30 minutes navigating through everything but she got it done.

She was unable to find one for herself until after 6am this morning. As of a few minutes ago she's still trying.

Even with Connecticut trying to simplify the process, it's still a nightmare. I guess that shouldn't surprise anyone...
 
I have a quick meeting with my manager in about an hour to hear what my merit raise and bonus will be. My merit raise will be teeny. I think I mentioned here that back in late September, my position was dropped a grade. While my salary did not change, the salary range for the grade level dropped and I'm pretty close the the ceiling. Which, whatever. That doesn't bother me much. What I was told would happen was the calculation of my bonus would change. That's kind of a pain. What I need to ask is if the calculation will take into consideration that for nine months I was at the higher grade level.

So, my current manager is pregnant and due in late May. My old manager, who is my current manager's boss, and I were texting over the weekend (it was her birthday and we've been texting about the vaccine for our mom's) tells me she's going to be "leaning on me when my manager is out on leave." I didn't respond. Not sure if I will but a couple of things - 1) my manager has two others on this team who are a higher grade and they should be the one to pick up slack, not me and 2) if I'm going to be helping cover for someone who is about four grades higher than me, that needs to be recognized somehow. I've covered for three maternity leaves and barely got a thank from anyone. I'm a little sick of it.
 
So, I made a hair appointment at the salon where I was exposed back in November. It's at 7:30am on Saturday which will mean it will probably be just me there, which is good. Apparently there's a note on my record there that I have "a lot of hair". Unless she usually works only on elderly women with thinning hair, I have no idea what that means. I do not have a lot of hair. les - you've met me. I also hope she remembers she offered to not charge me for this appointment because she exposed me to COVID.

Also, the Hockey East schedule came out about 30 minutes ago. BU's game on Saturday is at 3:00pm. So, both of these things say to me that the extremely slim chance I have of getting a companion appointment or the vaccine on Saturday (my aunt is going this Saturday for her second shot) will grow exponentially! Because that's the kind of stuff that happens to me. Insert smiley and laughing emoji here.

The MN-MI and WI-MSU times for this weekend also just came out. Frustrating that it took so long. I get it, and all, but still...

Work sucked, although it could have been worse. Dunno what happened today, and talking with the drivers, it was the same everywhere. ALL businesses were busy on their routes. Filled to the gills.

I don't normally quote myself but wanted to add that the funeral of a good friend of my parents is scheduled for Saturday at 12:30 so now that's a third thing which will pretty much my cement my ability to get a vaccine appointment for that day! I'll keep you all posted.
