Good morning Lodge. Today I try my hand at work from home while parenting. NaSK's mom has been our child supervision, but she is also power of attorney/shared caretaker of her elderly mother. Her mom had a blood sugar scare, so she's with her today, leaving NaSK and I to take care of wT baby while both attempting to work from home.

Rollercoaster continues for the whole teaching thing. Decided I was a definite no only to find out today it went virtual. So, onto a new thing again. I can't even begin to say what I think of this whole situation. However- I will have a paycheck so that is a good thing.

Glad to hear this, les. I wish you luck in your preparations for classes to begin. Man, I do NOT envy any of my friends dealing with back to school concerns now.

We got the word last week that, for our domestic locations, we are doing a pilot opening in two large offices - mine (corp headquarters) and Liberty Lake, WA. They're bringing back about 15% of the in office work force. They're going to see how that goes, then hopefully start phasing the rest of us back in starting mid-November. We'll see how that goes. I actually have to go into the office on Tuesday of next week. We're having a bunch of new safety signage installed for a video shoot on Wednesday. Thankfully I will get to park in our garage and not take public transportation, and there really shouldn't be any others in the office except for some Facilities and Security people, plus the installers.

Baby wore Black will be 6 weeks old on Friday. At least he lets me sleep at night and is a good sleeper. It helps that hubby works 2nd shift and does the night time duty around 3-4am. I am planning on going back to work in another month. We are still trying to find daycare. There are a couple of places that we have narrowed down. It comes down to what my work schedule will be in the future. I maybe at a new location, but I have seniority within the company so I can pick my own hours and days.

Finding daycare is always complicated. THis must make it doubly interesting.

Sounds like you can find daycare and STILL make money. Many couples have found that the secondary job they have (whether it be husband or wife) is basically a wash for costs, so one stays home to be more connected to the child. Daycare is that crazy. If that is indeed the case, kudos to you!
 
I have this little mini chopper my mom got for me when I moved into my condo. I use it to chop onions. It broke tonight. Scarlet sad. My mom doesn’t remember where she got it. Amazon didn’t have one I wanted. I did find one on Target’s website and then wound up ordering a few other things because they wouldn’t ship it unless my overall order was over $35.

Oh, I’ve been trying to find Clean Shower daily shower cleaner. When this pandemic first started and you couldn’t find any cleaning products but I could always find Clean Shower. It wasn’t a disinfectant Or anything like that. I have not been able to find it anywhere this past month. I did find it on Target’s site so I bought a couple of them. I did find it on Amazon for four times what they had it at Target. Four times!! That’s so wrong.
 
In what person's mind is cat food a valid substitution for dog food? This is the problem with online grocery ordering and the reason why the one time I did curbside grocery pickup I said no substitutions.
NaSK offered to do grocery shopping last night....and well, we have a 15 pound bag of cat food but no cats.

Good evening Lodge! I am still not getting much of anything done but I am doing better at forgiving myself for it.
 
Greetings Lodge peeps. Was planning to take today off and go to the beach. However, was on the fence as the weather reports made it seem like it would be pretty cloudy most of the day. Did I want to waste a day and not go to the beach? Hmmm. Then at 2:15 yesterday, I got this extreme rush project dumped on me - something that was due this Monday. Ugh. After spending all afternoon trying to get a handle on it, I did two things - emailed this organization for an extension (which I got) and tweeted one of the local weather guys about whether today would be a good beach day.

Knowing I would need to schedule a call for today, plus do my food shopping, I decided to not take the day. Of course, the sun is shining bright. And I had my call and I'm done with what I need to do. I may have my lunch and take a ride to the beach and sit there for a few hours.

Today so far has sucked big time. And it is only noon. ::I would insert a sad emoticon but I can't:: THis is the most Tuesday Friday in a long time.
 
I got a new credit card today. It doesn't have raised numbers! (Insert EEK! emoticon.) It makes it look fake. I guess there have not been machines that read those numbers in a couple of decades.

I didn't realize New England Historic Genealogical Society had a section dedicated to any group of people I thought it was generalist. I used to belong yrs ago but then I was more of a newbie
