The USCHO Fan Forum has migrated to a new plaform, xenForo. Most of the function of the forum should work in familiar ways.
Please note that you can switch between light and dark modes by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right of the main menu bar.
We are hoping that this new platform will prove to be faster and more reliable. Please feel free to explore its features.
Spent an hour on hold with the meds company to show I didn't owe the $5 for the med they never sent me, because my prescription ran out (allegedly) and that last part was cleared up on Mon and therefore I couldn't have been sent the med. The $5 was nothing. It was the principle of the thing. 3 weeks exact until the day I have my first real vacation of the year.....
Happy Hockey Table for me tonight! I'm buying everyone a round!
So, while my college team sucks, my NHL team rebuilds, and my minor pro team decided to not participate in the post season while made up of the best minor leaguers from Nashville and Carolina.... the USHL team in my back yard, the Chicago Steel, just clinched their second championship in four years!!!
Now if only my college team could be this successful...
Good weekend, needed it. Topped off by the entire local brewery Sunday Crew making the gathering, and just about every current/ex-employee showing up (for various reasons). It was bizarre. Definitely a who's who, for the locals. Many a random visitor to the brewery was confused at all the cheering/hugging/etc. "What's with THAT table?" The community fabric is indeed thick here; the "One Of Us" attitude*
*We welcome anyone to be one of us, but there is a bit of a probation period...
Good morning Lodge and Happy Monday! Starting my work day outside on my balcony. It's a little cooler than I expected it to be after yesterday's heat. We got a notification from our IT group a few weeks back asking us all to unplug our laptops from the power source a couple of times a week to help preserve the laptop's battery. What better way to do that than to spend a few hours outside?
Saturday I took my mom to swap out her iPhone 4 with my old iPhone 6. AT&T has emailed me a few times to let me know 3G is going away in February 2022, making her iPhone 4 obsolete. My mom doesn't use her cell all that much so we didn't feel the need to get her a brand new phone. We got to one AT&T store near her home. The guy tell us he cannot use the app to swap the items between phones because the operating system on the iPhone 4 is too old. He says we have to go to an Apple store. Figure out how to get a Genius Bar appointment, drive there, they are able to put all her contacts on the iPhone 6 and were able to move the few pictures to the new phone. What they could not do was put in the new SIM card. So....off to the AT&T store in the mall. What an exhausting experience.
