Re: Poll: if Shannon Miller was to make a career change
Miserable? Well, if you can't laugh at life and have a little fun....
IMHO there is a huge distinction between people who don't have a clue about fashion, and those who dress really provocatively/ out there on purpose--as a means of getting attention and being truly distinctive, like Coach Miller did. Like Elton John, Liberace etc. were known for.
You don't wear sequins to a hockey game without expecting someone is going to notice. Rather, you'd probably be disappointed if no one did.
Other ice-related personalities like Don Cherry and Johnny Weir have taken distinctive (often to the point of ridiculous) styles to an art form to garner added attention. More people know and watch them as a result of their over-the-top wardrobe choices, than would be the case purely as a result of their successful careers. Part of the fun and entertainment value of following them is wondering what they will wear next. I truly admire their confidence and marketing savvy in that regard, and like them more overall as a result, though they may also be controversial in other ways. And neither would be in the least upset nor surprised to learn that people were discussing their attire as well as their craft.
For the record, I similarly don't hate Shannon Miller either. There is no question she is extremely successful, as well as controversial, which actually makes her doubly good for the sport. I'm actually looking forward to following her more than ever now. And I now can't wait to see--what will she wear on Friday?
Honest.
To all you Shannon Miller haters..........Jealousy Kills!!!!! Its a shame, the immaturity of you and the fact that her jacket is a subject for its own thread ??......You all need to find something productive to do with your lives, you must be so miserable.....what a joke!!!
I guess there will always be jealous haters when your on top!!!
To each his or her own style..........![]()
