Section 5: Method of Determining Champion
A. The Conference Championship shall be determined by a six-team tournament. The Ice Hockey Coaches Committee set up the following criteria to determine the selection of the six teams. In the event of ties the following format will be used to determine seeding:
1. The best record of tied teams against each other based on Conference play (tournament play will not be considered).
2. Number of total conference wins over ties if points are equal.
3. Goal differential against each other in Conference play.
4. Goal differential against all other Conference teams.
5. Coin flip by Commissioner.
Displacement - defined as automatic bumping to lower position.
B. Format – The playoffs will start on the first Tuesday after the conclusion of the regular season. The number 1 & 2 seeds will draw byes on Tuesday,
Feb. 19th.
Tuesday, February 23, 2010 - #6 seed at #3 seed
#5 seed at #4 seed
Saturday, February 27, 2010 - Lowest remaining seed at #1
Second lowest seed at #2
Saturday, March 6, 2010 - Championship
*If game ends in a tie, a 12 or 15 min. intermission and then a 20 min. sudden death overtime, If no score, 20 min. overtime continues until a winner is determined.
C. Tournament Time -- The games for the tournament will be at 7:00 p.m.
D. Officials – Assigned by ECAC.
Tournament Tickets: Adults - $5.00 per night, students - $2.00 per night.
High School students - $3.00. Courtesy tickets--4 competing colleges - 12 passes (to be used as institution desires) Two passes to each game official, if requested. If host charges more during season for games, use the host team's price for admission. No Complimentary Tickets.

Section 10: Crowd Control
The responsibility for crowd control rests with the Director of Athletics or the designated representative of the host institution. The Directors of Athletics of the competing institutions are expected to communicate with their students and other interested fans prior to the competition to encourage enthusiastic support within the confines of good sportsmanship. The Directors of Athletics or their designated representatives (other than Coaches) shall be available at the site of the competition to assist in controlling the crowd.
The Director of Athletics or the designated representative of the host institution should be prepared to go to the public address system at the first sign of unsportsmanlike crowd behavior and request cooperation in maintaining proper playing conditions.
Only the participants, coaches, officials and authorized personnel shall be allowed in the competition area before, during and at the conclusion of competition.
Artificial noisemakers, air horns and electronic instruments are not permissible. The Director of Athletics or the designated representative of the host institution is responsible for removing such instruments from the competition area. Bands or any component thereof are not allowed to play while the competition is in progress.
The SUNYAC governing sports committees believe the conduct before, during and after the competition of all those representing the participating institutions should exemplify the highest traditions of college athletics.
No alcoholic beverages shall be sold or otherwise be made available for consumption in connection with a SUNYAC Championship, nor shall any such beverages be brought to the site during the Championship. "During the Championship" is intended to include the period from the time access to the site is available to spectators until all patrons have left the facility or area used for competition. - page 69/176
