Didn't there used to be a thread like this?

Anyway, we got a new dog a couple weeks ago, and named him Mauser:

Big puppy I see...

Great Dane?

Yup. 36" at his shoulder and add another foot for his head. He was a rescue as he was malnourished at "just" 117 lbs when he was taken. He's up to 140, but should be ~ 170 or so.

Nice job, picking a rescue. We have a beautiful pointer/hound mix that we acquired from my MIL, who went to the Jefferson County HS looking for a dog for somebody else. She couldn't go home without her. She's about 6 now, and a wonderful dog.

Not my pet, but this is the best dog video I've seen in a while.
Soldier home from overseas, Dog welcomes him home.

A before and after of my JRT Chip per his haircut a few weeks ago. I had allowed him to get too shaggy. He looks better when he grows out for 3-4 weeks after hair cuts.

Chip. When the weather turns cold he frequently takes to sunning himself near a south facing window. Although he prefers tearing around with speed outside to maintain sufficient body warmth.

My shadow temporarily blocking his rays.

Nice rough coat. Got one of my jack russells currently curled up in my lap sleeping under her blanket. She's a demanding little hound.
