PC @ Lowell 10/22: Alliance Shmalliance

Re: PC @ Lowell 10/22: Alliance Shmalliance

Here is my flamefest for you UML fans....
PC will win 3-2 and EACH player skating for Lowell will feel shame. I will rejoice at Lowell's defeat and say terrible things about UML fans behind their backs to other fan bases in Hockeyeast. After that we will all laugh at the UML players and their fans because we are saying such terrible things about all of them and they are SO unaware of what we are saying.

Take that UML fans. That's what happens when you break an alliance. That's how we roll.
Is this when we post :p? Crazy game to watch tonight- massive amount of SOG. The Providence goalie looked impressive.

81 shots during this game. Amazing. Beaudry played well, but I honestly left that game thinking that Lowell just missed shots with nets open all night long.

What a great crowd, all credit to the students for showing up, and that stadium is even better now than it was when it started. On the way out, I walked by people that were talking about wanting to get tickets for tomorrow because they thought this was a great experience. Just a wonderful night all around.

Beaudry played well?!?! Is this real talk or are you having a laugh? He gave up ridiculous rebounds and should have had stopped three or four of those goals, specifically not holding the post on the first Pendenza goal and the Ruhwedel shot that he got a piece of and let trickle past him. Yes, he did well sliding around the crease to rob Lowell of some goals, but in general he was atrocious. Certainly the most overrated goalie in Hockey East in a long while.

Re: PC @ Lowell 10/22: Alliance Shmalliance

Definitely, it was one of the weirdest games I've ever been to in my UML history.

Both goalies and defenses were completely dismal tonight. I could have filled up six Jack Edwards' bingo cards with the amount of "Juicy Rebounds" both goalies gave up.

The Providence D looked really slow and lethargic. I don't know if is because they are trees, not very good, too passive, or all of the above. When Lowell had the PP in their attacking zone, Providence gave them all the room they wanted.

Lowell's defense (as a whole) had trouble with decision-making all night long. Whether to pinch, fall back, carry, or pass in the defensive zone. Carr's rebound control (or lack thereof), also cause plenty of issue.

Lowell's fourth line tonight was impressive to say the least.

A big and important win for a young team, I'll be interested to see what happens tomorrrow night.

From the sounds of last night's game at least, I'd have to agree with that analysis. For the first few seasons of Army's tenure people blamed Tyler Sims for all of the team's issues -- I remember the saying "if only we had a goalie" being thrown around a few times. That of course despite the fact the team couldn't score goals and that Sims was actually more than decent most nights.

If Beaudry was a big-time goaltender, and your team which struggles to score actually puts up 4 in the net, you've got to win that game. Instead he gives up 5 and from all accounts looked really bad doing so. Big-time goaltenders have to do better than that, especially ones who are supposed to "carry" a team picked for the cellar like PC. Even the UML announcers, from the few minutes I heard of the game, were ripping him for his rebounds last night.
