PC Hockey - On the road back

Re: PC Hockey - On the road back

UML played better. PC seemed off the whole night. No matter, we still need to win 2 next week.

Re: PC Hockey - On the road back

Thanks to NESN, some of you may be thinking that you've finished in 5th. Not the case. You finish 4th and will be hosting UNH (a good matchup for you guys).

Re: PC Hockey - On the road back

The best team on the ice won.....PC was a step behind and a foot off on the passes......win 2 this weekend and go from there......already far ahead of where I thought we would be......thanks for the great season and we should get home ice as we were 2-0-1 against UNH

Congratulations to the Providence College program, coaches, players, and even the Hockey Guy for a fine regular season. To be in the hunt and playing for first place on the last night of the regular season is awesome. Just a short while ago PC... well you know. I am thrilled to see the program back in the hunt and contesting every night. Assuming we can hold on to everyone moving forward, the next few years will be exciting. Now, lets get to taking on UNH and moving on. Go PC!

Re: PC Hockey - On the road back

I'm just glad I get to see another game at Schneider before I graduate. I have no complaints about this season at all.

Re: PC Hockey - On the road back

Just wanted to say that you've got a very talented team, and while I'm thrilled to walk away with the win ... I fully expect these two teams to be playing meaningful games in the future against each other.

Oh, and I hate Gillies. HATE.*

* -- Actually, only because he's so freakin' good! ;)

Re: PC Hockey - On the road back

I think that it's fitting that the two teams playing for the regular season title in the final game to be the first non-big-four team to do so are each hosting one of those same 'big four' in the quarterfinals.

Re: PC Hockey - On the road back

NESN picked the Saturday game to start at four, so I guess I'll be making a mad dash from the airport to Schneider to hopefully see the last half of the game. Gaahhhh.

1. No matter what you are correct Lowell's play took us out of the game. They were the better team
2. I don't like senior night--why a lot of teams do it after the game. We got on the ice 15 minutes early, stood around and had a happy fest which certainly takes away from your normal routine and for a team that has to be prepared to hit from the get go, that edge is killed by standing around
3. Friday night the pressure was on Lowell to put it away. While that same pressure remained, we now also had it. Well at least it was a learning experience.
4. We play our best hockey 5 on 5, would have been much better off without a ref who called as many penalties and let them play.

Re: PC Hockey - On the road back

Best of luck against UNH you guys! If your team plays 2 games the way they played Friday night you'll get it done.

Re: PC Hockey - On the road back

did they open up attendance for the game on saturday against Lowell, and going foward ? , when are students on break or have they already had there's.

Nope, was still 2,089 cap. They're opening it up for this weekend though, I believe.

Re: PC Hockey - On the road back

And he should be the top candidate at BU!

That's a dream job. I hope the BU fans on that thread are correct and keep it in-house. We have very little chance of competing with BU for tradition/facilities/fans/proximity to the Dugout/etc...

Re: PC Hockey - On the road back

The play that was the difference for 4th seed and home ice and going on the road for the first round. Remember 2 point swing if this doesn't end up a 3-3 tie

With Saturday being the ultimate power play failure we are just 4-10-3 when we fail to score a power play goal. UNH is by far the best penalty killing team in the league and the small ice at PC can only help them. One of the 4 wins without a powerplay goal was the 1-0 win over UNH

Remember also we are going to see DeSmith at his best as he and tries to outplay his former understudy.
