I thought Gillies played just fine tonight. The second UNH goal was a pinball off two Friars. A few more PC goals would have helped. Onward to the NCAA's - hopefully.

I thought Gillies quit on the third goal knowing the clock was just about done.......for the NCAAs hockey East will need to get 3 at large bids for PC to go, BC and the loser in the tourney then PC

The wrap around goal was no fluke. It was embarrassing and all on him as he say it the whole way. You point is well taken though about the other two goals and Gillies would have had to be perfect last night. PC didn't score. You don't score, you don't win. I expected a much better effort form the Friars and many of the guys simply didn't show up.
It was a **** poor performance buy the team as a whole. Expect one and done in the NCAA's if they play like that next week.

Yes this was a very disappointing game. While very few seniors this was a battled tested team. This was their 3rd straight appearance in the Garden. This was the 11th playoff game for a good part of the team and we dressed only 2 freshmen. You would have come out stronger. Ultimately what this team does not have is some forward or Dman who when the chips are down can put the team on his shoulders and carry the team.......it fell to much on Gillies last night

Re: PC - A new start and a new venue

PC was skating and hitting for the first 20:00. Then they stopped skating and stopped hitting and UNH skated circles around PC in the second 20:00. Then I went home, because I came to watch some good hockey, but it seemed quite clear to me that PC would rather have been somewhere else than playing hockey on a Friday night.

Unfortunately your assessment is spot on. The Friars have had SEVERAL games this season where they haven't turned in a solid effort. I question their collective effort last night.

Sorry you guys couldn't pull off the win. Would have been cool to have an all Alliance final. Hope you make the NCAAs.

Yea..this has been going on all year.

Re: PC - A new start and a new venue

When the team has a too-frequent habit of not showing up, i.e. giving a less-than-intense effort, how much of that is on the coach? There have been many post game press conferences where Nate has said the team gave a poor effort, for at least one period, both in wins and losses. Isn't that primarily the coaches' responsibility, to get the team ready to play?
