I'll tell you what else won you the game. Physical play. HE teams are far better prepared for the NCAAs than the ECAC. Last year was an aberration. You saw it first hand last night. The Bobcats got frustrated and started taking stupid penalties and eventually the misconduct against Jones. By that time, it was all over. Quinnipiac along with the rest of the ECAC does not see this type of physicality combined with speed in their conference. Not on a consistent basis. Union will have their hands full today although I think they are better suited because their D can jump into the play and create all sorts of chances. It should be a great game.

Union and Q were 7-0-2 vs hockeyeast this year.

Because Gillies played such a great game he made all his saves look easy, he was positioned perfectly for all that was sent his way.....the rest of the team played disciplined hockey and together that equaled a win......Jones got a misconduct from his mouth not his stupid play, like they say "You can't fix stupid"

Now PC has to continue to do their own jobs and play to their standards and its off to Philly......like I said in post #1 many months ago

Folks, PC is not here without Gillies. Plain and simple. Sure he slumped during the season as did Patrick Roy, and Tretiak and Plante and Cheevers and any other great. To be debating Gillies is plain stupid. Let's root for PC today!

So I realized yesterday that my mom was six months pregnant with me the last time PC won a game in the NCAA tournament.

Crazy, isn't it?

Let's hope for another win today.

You guys played very well yesterday and we couldn't match the physicality. Gillies is special but we didn't test him enough. He only got beat once and it was because it deflected off one of your defenseman.
Complete side note. What is the story with the mascot. That thing is by far the creepiest mascot I have ever seen hahaha

PC is down 2 and Jon seems to be fighting the puck with less help from the D today....lots of rebounds

Hey, it's in Boston next year. (But will Gillies be around?) Anyway, tough loss -- I saw Union fully capable of beating UVM, didn't have any idea they would do the same to the Friars. Wish it weren't so...

We were beat by Nates senior class......Wonderful year for PC hockey, totally reborn now we build on it.....thanks for the great year and hopefully Gillies will have one more year of growth remaining, but I doubt it
