Patty Kazmaeir 2017

Re: Patty Kazmaeir 2017

I think the only thing that is a "prohibitive favorite" refers back to the title of the this thread. Probably a dumb question, but do they re-vote after the final 3 are announced or has the final voting been done for some time?

Re: Patty Kazmaeir 2017

Wisconsin is the prohibitive favorite in the matchup with bc. The poll thread for "Who Wins The NCAA Championship" tells the story. It shows only 4 of the 34 voters see bc getting past Wisconsin to the championship game. 30 see Wisconsin getting there. And of those 4 voters for bc? 1 would vote for bc no matter what the circumstances and the other is most likely EF1 with the all eastern final.

It is also true that ARD is the prohibitive favorite to win the Patty Kazmaeir award.

And I have it on high authority that the other vote for BC was only because he doesn't want the Gophers to have to face Wisconsin for a 5th time. Not that the Gopher's couldn't win. 1-1-2 so far indicates a 50-50 scenario. Be careful of what you wish for? Maybe, but BC on paper looks like a better opponent for a win for the Gophs.

Absolutely freaking fantastic. It still doesn't make me feel any less p/o'ed she didn't win it last year, but hey at least she didn't get screwed by being on a great team. She worked hard, she played awesome, well deserved. Maybe since she's going for her Masters in accounting @ UW next year we can squeeze some more eligibility out of her.

Re: Patty Kazmaeir 2017

Congratulations to her. Well deserved for sure. I'd be fine with her coming back, but only if Kessel can too, just for the second half of next season. Or maybe Wendell and Darwitz for their fourth seasons?

If she didn't win it this year, no goalie was ever going to win it. Only way she was going to lose it is if in the last 30 days, either Stalder/Mercer found the cure for cancer or Desbiens committed armed robbery of a bank or grand theft auto.

Re: Patty Kazmaeir 2017

Congrats to ARD. The most deserving of the 3 IMHO. Now if only Mercer can repeat her 1G/1A outing from game 1 against Wisco at Cheel early in the year or maybe double or triple it tomorrow ;) .

You should be worried! Seems like most times Kas winners don't hoist the trophy

Except that 3 of the 4 Badgers who previously won it did so while winning the Natty the same year.

In fact, since 2005, More than half of the winners have gone on to win the title, and of the winners who were playing in the final game during that time, Decker and Carpenter are the only ones that didn't win the title too.

Still, TA should be worried!

Carpenter didn't play in the final the year she won the Kaz.

Re: Patty Kazmaeir 2017

Congratulations to ARD and the Badgers for winning the Patty K. Definitely well-deserved. Hopefully she'll spend the night out celebrating and be tired tomorrow afternoon. ;)

Congrats to ARD. Mercer will sleep on it. Spoke with (as I said in previous post) one of the tier 2 NWHLers about them not jumping into Worlds. That same nights the deadline (Thurs) the Pride played and won 8 - 2. This player said that instead of licking their wounds they came out on fire.

Maybe Mercer will too.
