Oswego State Lakers 2025-26...Let's Take it up a notch.....

3-0 over and improving Canton team ,net minding looked good again, missed the net on several good chances and missed a penalty shot as well, the Vassalo to mcQuad goal was nice, onto Potsdam in a few hours......Why am I seeing soooo many 3pm and 4pm starts this year all over the landscape, reason ?????
Been a while, but I'll chime in.

Apparently, according to the PBP and Color folks at Potty, there's a safety element involved with getting folks home earlier with the darker nights of the winter months, hence the 4 PM starts. I don't agree with it, enjoying primetime hockey myself, and will continue watching Oz replays where I can since I am doing yardwork or renovations in the Sat aftn hours, but it is what it is.

If Oz wins even 1 of 2 after Thanksgiving, I will be a very hard man.

Those cameras are still there. They use them for the broadcasts still. But you are correct and that they have never been used for official reviews b4
Having goal judges present is not a luxury, at least in the eyes of anyone that has a love for the sport and wants to get involved. Those goal judge boxes at Oz are not accessories or ornaments. Realistically, any rink that can recruit goal judges are in a good spot, forget what a conference or the NCAA would dictate.

If there are any refs in this thread, please chime in: realistically, wouldn't you want a goal judge backing up your call versus nothing at all?

This has nothing to do with it. The teams like to get an early start to travel home on Saturdays, expecially if they were on the road the whole weekend (before they started to rearrange the schedule, so two-game road trips became rare). It was initially only done for those games where the away team was far away, and even then, not always (though, Brockport started doing it for all their home Saturday games). Eventually, everyone asked the SUNYAC to standardize the practice, so (almost) all Saturday conference games are at 4:00.

It's around 3000, plus the game for Utica is the Teddy Bear Toss which always sells out. Single game tickets were on sale for almost a month before it sold out though, so if you missed out, you just waited too long
This.

lakont55, the Teddy Bear Toss is a huge deal in Utica. And one of the best atmospheres I see in a regular season game. I love it. And thusly, one of the hardest tickets to get.
