Oswego State Lakers 2025-26...Let's Take it up a notch.....

I should have added it was an actual shutout , in the last twenty years traveling to Geneseo I have never seen a shutout there
Kid played a great game,in a hostile atmosphere, was out on the top of the crease most of the time and had to deal with a shit ton of traffic IFO the net, stood strong and was aggressive......great time had with the 2 Mikes....see ya at Whiteout...

What a game especially for the backup (who may not ne the backup much longer if he continues to do this). Not too sure about the sog total though i could just be wrong but it felt like he covered EVERY puck that came near his crease whether it was an actual shot, a bounce off the boards or in one case taking it directly from one of our defensemen and those counted as "saves" and "sog". In terms of high scoring chances it felt pretty even. Still Milberg kinda fell off towards the end of the regular season last year so having 2 goalies that can get u a win vs anybody should be a big help this year.
Genny's goalie stoned us several oddman rushes for sure...

I don't ever remember Coach starting two different goalies to start the season. As said, both looked good. OZ looked a bit tired last night; i'm sure the Genny game ( and especially the 3rd period of that game) took it out of them. Yellow helmets for the win. I believe they were regular issue in the 80's-90's? Maybe CIR or DIII has a better memory than me can weigh in.
Well I have to tickle my memory I believe they were at least 80's. For some reason I remember seeing the yellow helmets at plattsburgh when I was a kid in the late 70's.

A very good effort this past weekend. I have been traveling to Genny for over 20 years, a shutout with 54 saves in the Ira Wilson arena is unheard of. We were concerned early in the game but the lakers started hitting and the pucks came our way. The third was all Genny. We were seeing alot of fatigue that period. Fortunately our blocking was great and the young goalie was sensational. Great to see a nice turnout from friends and family at the game. As a footnote we did not see Russel Jaslow, hopefully he is doing ok

They NEVER sold pretzels at the IRA!
on that note, not much of a food vibe at The Ira,2 vending machines and a few softball girls selling cold pizza, man we are spoiled at The Campus Center, good thing we had a few before the game at the Village Tavern...Let's Go Lakers???.....Any idea on which jersey we wear Friday night, and which matching color helmet      ,starting to look like Oregon Football............ow and of course the Big one........who will be beaten the pipes Friday night?????

I dunno who is goaltending Friday night but his last name begins with an M, I believe.

Just WOW. All 3 teams were on tonight. I haven't seen the Cards play this physical in a longtime. Cards fan don't complain your team had a buzzer beater with 1 second left many years ago in your rink. Just a great game. Hopefully the SUNYAC will be a 3 horse race.

Hot take the Utica Hobart game in the aud was better. That being said I have never heard a louder pop ever at that arena. It was literally defening and I couldn't hear myself talk. And for any salty platty fans I was sitting right behind the net when we scored I proceeded to look up and there was 0.7 seconds left so yes we did get it in time (take my worthless internet opinion as much as u want u can always just ignore it and throw it away). I have a feeling our trip to platty this year will not end well as that's 2 bitter tastes in the cardinals mouth, so might as well enjoy one of the best whiteout games we've had in a while.

Was there some sort of instant replay after the Oswego goal (the WTOP crew inferred there was one)? If so, when did that start? Funny that we have a game end like this so soon after SUNYAC banned goal judges from league games.WTOP did not have a screen shot showing a clock and the goal. The official behind the net definitely did not look up for the clock at any time.

Video review started this season for select facilities that meet the minimum requirements. Utica used it in their 1st game against Hobart at the aud. I would imagine the Deb and the Ronny b are nice enough facilities for replay whereas someone like canton or Potsdam does not have such luxury. Not sure if WTOP would have access to those feeds. What's this about no more goal line judges? I feel like we would've mentioned that rule change over the summer. Is there a source where we can find this info? Also worth noting neither both oz women's games this weekend did not have a goal line judge.

There was a goal judge there. The refs conferred with him.

The red light came on. If time had run out, the green light would have gone on, and the red light would never be able to turn on.

Wow, just watched this game, I'd have to agree with Russell, I believe the red light has a 1 second delay to protect against inadvertant activation. It was clear that the red light came on for about 2 tenths of a second before the automated green light cut it out at the end of the period. I would assume that is why 1 second was added as the officials knew at least a second had passed with the goal light delay.
