Oswego State Lakers.. 2021-2022...Let's get ready to...???

[FONT=Comic Sans MS, cursive]I do wish the play by play guy would limit using "Gretzky's office" and I don't think I heard "defensive zone" once.
Maybe I am just too old to know new lingo.
But how about those Lady Lakers?

Hopefully tomorrow will be better.[/FONT]

The Oswego Lakers have only been together a short time and in just two weeks they have made great improvements. Hobart Friday and Elmira Saturday, both ranked teams. Most of us are excited to see these games this weekend. Hopefully the Lakers are up for the challenge.

Well, "ranked" means absolutely nothing at this point, but I'd expect Hobart to be the better team.

Sloppy and slow, last night ID. At least one goal from Green being out of position. Didn't see the Canton game where we scored at will, so no comparison there. Good for Lady Lakers knocking off #10 on the road.

There is no poll. That one you are referencing Adrian as #10 is from March 2020. That said, it is a good win to go to Michigan and beat Adrian... congrats to the Lady Lakers!
 
To little to late....seems like we were waiting til the 3rd to get going,after their 3rd goal??? We looked slow or Hobart look quicker?? Lost every face-off in the D zone on the PK,no excuse for that ....I think this team has talent, not the offensive talent of years past, will have to play some solid D to win these close games and stay out of the box, perhaps a sit down for bad penalties?? Hobart's netminder played well as did ours...Crowd looked small??? Maybe halloween parties?? Has covid chased fans away??...Tough one tonight in Elmira against a team that played last year and won the conference...p.s losing the special teams battles doesn't help things at all either, had better straighten that out Hobart used a very aggressive Pk and it works wells we lay back and wait??

The crowds at RIT this past weekend were also very poor. And they weren't checking vacinnation status yet (they start that November 6).

Under the leadership of Mark Digby, I'm expecting the Oswego women's team to be heading in the right direction and perhaps be serious contenders in the not too distant future.
 
You CANNOT. give a good team a 3 goal lead and expect a good out come, we have done this for the first 2 games,also we have given up 3 goals in the last seconds of the period a few times ,momentum killer....up to the North country with zero momentum, but I expect a good outcome for the team after a good week of practice and hope they play well.........only 1 pen vs Elmira not bad
 
Apparently, collegehockeystats.net is not continuing this season. That is a real loss as it showed all the stats for every Div III team in one place after each game and for the season and their ranking in their conference. Is there a link to another source that might give that kind of information?

We will take the points from that weekend, but man we have played 6 games and we have to get off to better starts, not a good habit to fall into, again down 2 goals to Platty and had to come back.Well,looks like we are going to grind it out all seasons we miss the net many times and will have to call safellite to replace much glass.Missed an open net on the PP in the first vs Platty ugh...Anyone see the Lewis hit from the bad Platty feed,I will not pay 5 bucks to upgrade, look ok to me?? Otherwise took few penalties all weekend except the bad one in Maxy after we had just gotten the PP advantage...Netminding looked good, passing is better and we will start to gel soon and make thing hard on many other teams.Coach looks to be getting all the players in and will probably decided on a roster soon,tweeking it for the opponent we play....Cortland looks good so far they had a good North country trip as well...we get them next had better not fall asleep on'em...Love to see a big crowd for the next game attendance seems to be down in some places???...Lets Go Lakers...
 
After seeing all the games thus far and seeing the outcome of teams like Cortland, I believe the early part of the season is seeing a lot of parity in the SUNYAC conference. I’m certain Ed Gosek is not taking Cortland for granted. I believe Friday night that will be a good game in the Stanley arena
 
Agree will be a close good game Friday night vs The Dragons...Genny up in the north country will tell us a little about them as well..
 
A win is a win....special teams...ugh...I have a bad feeling that a talented team like Genny ,and like Utica did, will crush that lay back and wait Pk??? At least we only took 1 pen...Koz looked good, crowd looked much better...Genny and Platty played a close one..

Where's the goals? Plenty of shots. After 5 games we have 11 goals, After 4 games, Genny has 20. We need to find the back of the net and I don't know if we have that guy or guys presently. Koz did look good, after the 1st goal where he mufffed the rebound. We should have lit up Cortland on home ice. We didnt.
 
Gone are the BIG blowouts, we do not have the offensive talent like that anymore, not sure why?We will be battling close 1 goal game with the likes of Platty Bport Cort etc.. and hopefully Genny I think, if they stay low scoring affairs we have a chance,dont have Gallati and others to win it on the PP either.Yes many shots wide of the net, and into the ol' bread basket...Hopeing time will be good to this team. Go Lakers!!
 
Well we were predicting Cortland would be tough and they gave us plenty to worry about Friday night in the Stanley. Very close game both goalies were great.We have to hand it to Joe Cardirelli and the Cortland Dragons on taking down a very good hockey team in Hobart. Plattsburgh gives Geneseo a close game and then we see Brockport take down Plattsburgh hard Saturday night. As we said before there is a lot of parity this year.
