Re: Oswego State Laker Hockey 2012-2013....No Slogans, Just Hockey

FYI Laker fans....

Plattsburgh State vs. Oswego......Since 2000 (22-14-5), Last 5 years (7-6-1)

Longest unbeaten streak: By Plattsburgh 10 games (9-0-1 from 2005-09)...By Oswego 7 games( 6-0-1 from 2009-12)

Hope this answers questions about "domination". I guess it would be your interpretation of "recent" history. Is 2000-01 too long ago? How about 2009-10? I thin measuring the rivalry since 2000 gives a more accurate picture. Or even the last 5 years is pretty good.

Re: Oswego State Laker Hockey 2012-2013....No Slogans, Just Hockey

I was a little before that '79-83...I think Piromalli and Stahl were only 2 holdovers who you would have played against. Maybe the goalie Valliere too. I can remember driving to the rink for games vs. Oswego and the parking lot was already packed. Ten minute standing O for warmups!!
We taught those boys well!! No problem dropping the gloves in those days, eh? Anyway, Lair and Pratt were great players..goaltending problems hurt those teams. They were pounding some D1 teams as we were. We didn't care for Unger too much. Don't forget the great Ray Guay (from Plattsburgh) who played down there!! Maybe this year can be a rematch of that '87 final.......with the same result , of course !!!!
well i did my fresh yr at Elmira as well so I know that program as well..did play vs piromalli and stahl from what I remember, the crowds at Romney were great, always there to root and boy it was cold,as for the fight it was a pile up in front of the net and I grabbed a guy from behind to pull him off the pile and maybe threw a few cant remember:D,but I got the boot...the funny thing was Unger put another players jersey on me and was set to send me out for the third period with his jersey, but thought better of it right b4 we went out for the start of the period, I was into it for sure....Ray guay was a great skater and better person, fun guy....as for unger he was a young coach and a nice guy but perhaps we needed a little more discipline, who knows......rematch ok .....results hopefully different..I do remember playing Clarkson, lost by a few I think, the big difference was their 3 and 4th lines crushed ours.......

I wouldn't really say in the last ten years either team has dominated the other. Most of the games have been coin flips and in a bunch of cases the team that controlled the run of play the most actually wound up losing. A bounce here or there has been the difference in a lot of those games. Yes there has been some domination in the win column over the years but not so much on the ice.

skipperbob maybe abysmal isn't the right word but the penalty killers weren't very active all night and they didn't put a lot of pressure on the Buff State players. Some failed clearing attempts and some failures to get the puck deep led to a couple of the goals which is something they really need to clean up.

There were a bunch of positives though as I said before Rodder, Brown, Moodie and Josepher really took the team on their shoulders. Brown's miss not withstanding they were the only real spark the team had for a while. Moodie has a pretty epic stache going on for movember. Rodders goal had shades of Peter Forsberg to it. Josepher breaking up an odd man rush then scoring at the other end to make it 3-2 was really the turning point in the game. Ayotte's bomb from the faceoff circle off a pass from McConney has come to be expected and I think that units entire goal should be to open him up for that shot because it is pretty much unstoppable if he gets it off right.

A good look at how colleges are using students to drive their video productions - WTOP stands out as the only fully student run, student funded operation...most are extensions of the athletic department with professionals in key management and creative positions. This article originally appeared in the November issue of NACDA’s Athletics Administration magazine.

Re: Oswego State Laker Hockey 2012-2013....No Slogans, Just Hockey

Well, an interesting start to the evening. Was sitting in the section next to the Wellington Dukes... they certainly were a rambunctious group of young men until campus security came and hauled one away... he put up a good fight too. At least I believe he was part of the group, he was sitting with them. Thought the game itself was a very clean, precise demolition of Fredonia... too bad about the mix up that cost Hare another shutout. Because of a bad knee I usually try to leave before the crowd rushes out if the game is a one sided affair, so what happened at 19:55? Certainly made for an interesting box score.

...a late hit, a throw down, then everyone on the ice finds somebody to hold on to...

Any word on Whitelaw's injury? Not only do I hope he's back for the Whiteout (I don't wanna hear any excuses :p), but he's my number #1 on my fantasy team!

He'll be back whiteout weekend, couch said if these were playoff games he would have played this weekend, they just want to give him this extra time to heal up.

Not a lot to say about last nights game. It was another dominating Saturday performance for the Lakers. Ayotte can flat out rip a puck and Moodie and Rodrigues are just dominating. Brown fit in on their line quite well but Titanic and Carr were not as good without him so it will be nice to have Whitelaw back.

As far as that crap at the end, Fredonia is a joke. They bring in a bunch with little to no ability and once they get behind they get buried then turn to goonery at the end. Muise never saw it coming and I applaud King and Gertsakis for how quickly they jumped in and came to his aide. With those two and a more consistent Rivait there is a lot to be excited about on the back end for next year.

The Dukes were pregaming hard. A bus load of Canadians stumbling out of The Shed at 6pm, each of them with two beers in their hands. Nice work by one to get cuffed before the game even started.

His biggest mistake was knocking the hat off the cop, before he did that I think he would have just been shown the door. Once he knocked the hat off it was game on and he lost.
