Onward to Boston! Friar Hockey 2014/15 Part Two

Re: Onward to Boston! Friar Hockey 2014/15 Part Two

What a night to be a Friar fan. It is really a night to savor. How sweet it is.

Re: Onward to Boston! Friar Hockey 2014/15 Part Two

Congratulations to the Friars! We were 17-0-0 when leading after two periods and you really took it to us in the 3rd (fluke goal or no fluke goal). You deserved it. Although I am obviously disappointed, I am glad that you got your first and happy for Hockey East. It must be a special night in Rhody. And as someone who has watched us win two National Championships in your city, it is only fitting that you win one in ours.

OMG, this just out BU goaile Matt O'Connor noticibly upset as a result of his horrifc play in the NCAA national champinship game, arrived back at campus and jumped directly in front of an MBTA bus on Comm Ave. in front of Marsh Chapel, no worries it went thru his legs! He is fine! LOL!

You really think you are funny posting this crap on three different threads.....give the guy a break, he stood up and talked to the media and took the blame for the goal, give him credit for the game staying close he made some good saves.......you claim to be an ex-player try acting like one and stop throwing a real player under the bus......you are a phony hiding behind a screen name, sign this BS with your real name

Re: Onward to Boston! Friar Hockey 2014/15 Part Two

agreed.
anyone who played would never pass blame. pc wanted game more in 3rd and end of the day, it was their destiny

Grow up, no player wants to make that mistake in the national championship. Lots of possibilities to still win the game. Jack wins the draw on the last goal face off and may have gone either way. No one play makes a game, usually lots of opportunities to win and lose. Kid was a classy guy, taking lots of questions after game.

Screw Matt O'Connor...he said that if it was a three game series, that BU would win! Um, PC beat you two out of three times this year buddy!

I read that last night also. Whatever O'Connor wants to think, let him. PC is The National Champion because of his huge blunder.

Re: Onward to Boston! Friar Hockey 2014/15 Part Two

Having had some time to reflect, catch up on sleep, watch a recording of the game after returning from Boston, I must say it is a rather nice place to be having watched the Friars win the national championship following 35 years of being a fan. What an amazing weekend! The Friars played solidly throughout the tournament and Mr. Gillies stood tall when he needed to. We sat six rows behind him in Boston and he put on quite the display. He is an amazing goalie and one I am glad we have had the opportunity to have for these past three years. Nate is an amazing coach who clearly is one of those guys who has the ability to work successfully with college student-athletes. As much as I have criticized, I do give Bob Driscoll credit for his work to bring Nate here (even with the help of a committee) and then to watch Nate do his thing. A textbook case of rebuilding a once stellar program that had hit rock bottom.

I am grateful for the opportunity to have my favorite team in the Frozen Four and then go and win the title! This is a trip that has created some wonderful lifelong memories for many family members and friends. My congratulations and thanks to this Providence College team. I couldn't help but think of so many long time fans who have left us along the way, some who were mentioned earlier, that would have loved to be part of it. My Dad comes to mind first, but also to Ralph, Jim, Jake, Penny, Frannie and Mike we had you with us.

The Providence College Friars are National Champions!

Very true and its guys like "The Freds" and the other faithful's who appreciate it the most, probably right up their with the program.

Re: Onward to Boston! Friar Hockey 2014/15 Part Two

Congratulations to the Friars! Great job! It's always nice to see new faces winning the title. The first one is really sweet, as us UMD fans experienced a few years ago.

As someone who has spent the better part of this season badmouthing your own goalie, I fail to see where you have any right to make a comment about a kid who stood up and took his lumps with a horde of medai after making a horrendous gaffe in the biggest game of his life.

It is O'Connor trying to say that BU was the better team...PC beat them the last two times they faced off so he needs to be quiet on that part.

I badmouthed PC Hockey for underachieving all year and Gillies did give up a TERRIBLE first goal in the National Championship game. PC got hot at the right time of the year. This is a fact!

Oh, he needs to be quiet now? Seriously? Then tell the hordes of media who surrounded his locker after the game. If he did a special sit down, one on one three weeks later and said that, maybe you'd have a beef but you have to be kidding me with this train of thought. And as someone who badmouthed this team all season instead of supporting and enjoying the team on this run, you shouldn't be allowed to enjoy any kind of celebration.

I bad mouthed them because they were underachieved which is the fact...regular season and HE postseason they did not live up to the expectations. They finally put it together at the NCAA Tourney
