Onward to Boston! Friar Hockey 2014/15 Part Two

Re: Onward to Boston! Friar Hockey 2014/15 Part Two

That's cute, but they are still alive.

You guys have been assured by the ultimate insider that PC is a "lock" so no worries.

All kidding aside, I'd be very surprised if PC misses the tourney, too. But the next week is the worst.

Re: Onward to Boston! Friar Hockey 2014/15 Part Two

With all the favorites winning in the conference tourneys, PC goes from 14 to 13 in the PWR.

As a big Gillies fan and someone who sat through these same two weeks last year hoping (unsuccessfully) for the bubble to fall the right way, best of luck to you guys.

I ran the pairwise calculator, and it can be very simple. If Bowling green loses to Mich Tech and SCSU loses to N.Dakota and either Miami or Denver in the Consolation game, Looks like no scenario can eliminate PC. I ran every possible conference outcome with the above scenario and no matter the conference winner, we would be in.

I've seen a few different things on Twitter this morning that pretty much back up what you're saying.

Has PC ever made the NCAA's two years in a row?

Are y'all factoring in the AHC auto bid, someone other than the Gophers winning the B1G?

I hope the Friars qualify.

Barring some outliers you should qualify. Everyone is rooting against SCSU ... UVM and UML are the ones who need to worry. To even stand a chance they have to win on Friday... loser is out.

Re: Onward to Boston! Friar Hockey 2014/15 Part Two

No. Which is why we can't do things the easy way

What's that overused phrase? This is why we can't have nice things?

I'd love to see what Gillies is going to do in his last crack at a Frozen Four. It's the offense that put them in this position. I like what Nate has done with them since he's been here, but you can't win by scoring one or two goals every game.

Yes, I factored in the Atlantic conference with the 16 seed. If Bowling green and SCSU Lose as above, you can have whoever you want win the 6 conferences. Nothing would push PC out. The last calculation i ran had RIT, Michigan ST., Harvard, Vermont, Denver and Ferris St. winning the conference titles. It makes no difference who you plug in. Add to that, over 80% of any scenario get's PC in, knock on wood!

It makes me think we are sneaking in the back door late at night instead of walking in the front with our head held high even though we finished in second place and deserve to go
