Onward to Boston! Friar Hockey 2014/15 Part Two

Really should have won this league...

Woulda, coulda, shoulda

I think if you polled the PC regulars before the season, based on what we were saying in Sept/Oct I think most believed a 2nd/3rd place finish---maybe hang in the race for first a little better

To do so I would say we needed to catch more breaks than we got this year. We hit numerous crossbars, we had more than a few goals overturned (and as I said last week I think that made us change our offense on a dime when that was not the type player who Leaman recruits) and finally there is that power play that runs on fumes.

Of the 11 losses 8 have been by a single goal. We lost the Brown game by 2, with a point in the 3rd we were down by 1 with a 5 minute power play. The losses include 7 losses which PC gave up 2 or fewer goals as well as both ties were 2-2

We are 42nd in the country on the pp 23/157. That is top of the bottom 1/3 wallowing with all the teams with losing records. If we had only improved to UVM's level (converting on 19.8 percent of chance--18th in nation, bottom of top third of teams). That translates into 8 goals.......in the 11 losses we are 3 for 48 on the pp. that few goals would have made a difference.

For all your whining you have never really griped about the pp. after 4 years and seeing how the pp was a power failure the previous 4 you would think that would be a point of emphasis. The lack of production has killed us for years now

If five years ago you told me PC would be sitting at #10 in the pairwise on the final week of the season, I would have told you hell had frozen over. Well maybe after this winter it has.

Some of the PP struggles can be blamed on number 10 and the coaching staff especially. Janko has never come off that PP in his three seasons and has never been a threat to score...why does Leaman keep him out there?

Up 2-0 already. Janko read this thread.

5-2PC. 2 goals reviewed so far...

Re: Onward to Boston! Friar Hockey 2014/15 Part Two

Maine needs to be blown up. Little if any carachter. Quit on the coach, stupid penalties, on and on
Brutal effort

Jon the worm has turned....it is now Maine who can't beat PC. And with numerous penalties including a couple of majors looks like Maine are goons

Are we sure 2002 Pooley isn't coaching up in Orono?

Re: Onward to Boston! Friar Hockey 2014/15 Part Two

Fun weekend for all who were at Schneider, unless you were wearing blue. Glad t have the bye into the quarterfinals. Home playoffs again this year, Four years ago we couldn't have imagined this.

Re: Onward to Boston! Friar Hockey 2014/15 Part Two

Anyone want to bring up how bad PC was this weekend on defense during power plays? I think Maine had two short handed goals and on top of that multiple odd man rushes...need to clean that up

Hopefully getting Gilmour back will help there. I think Walman takes too many chances especially on the point on PP.
