On the road again - RPI at St. Lawrence, Friday, Jan. 10, 2025

RPI has an awful 1-6-1 record at home this season, but has enjoyed good success on the road, where they've been 7-3-1 and are coming off a road sweep last weekend.

St. Lawrence has been even worse on the road than RPI has at home. The Saints are 1-8-1 on the road, having the dubious distinction of being the only visiting team to lose a game at Houston Field House this season. They are coming off an 8-1 pasting at Vermont.

St. Lawrence has been only so-so at home, with a 4-4 record. Still, they've been better there than on the road, and you have to figure their coach has made it clear he doesn't want to see a repeat of the way they played in their last outing.

Certainly a winnable game for RPI, but it's never a good idea to take a North Country opponent lightly.

If they can keep Lee and Caron out of the box and if they can get off to an early lead, this game is winnable.
I won’t be on tonight to post, so take good notes as always. Let’s go RED and bring “The Cross” home!!
 
We are underdogs both nights. 0.5 goals against SLU and 1.5 goals against Clarkson. As others have mentioned, staying out of the box is critical for us but we cannot just sit back and be non-aggressive. Defense must make sure most shots are taken from the perimeter and the slot area is kept as no man's land! Go Red!!!!!!!!
 
The girls are bigger underdogs at home this weekend at 1.5 goals in each game. If our defense is not toally healthy we are going to be at a much larger disadvantage.
 
At the end of one period - RPI girls 1 Clarkson girls 0. Amazing given the fact we are without much of our defensive corps. Trnkova tried to give it a go for tonight but could not and Larsen and Erbinova remain out of the line up. Going to be tough to hold Clarkson off the scoreboard being this short handed but at least off to a very nice start.

Trnkova scored a goal in the first minute of period 2!

In the first period Clarkson had 6 penalties and RPI 1. Has that ever happened for the men?
