As a Badger fan, I would say that you'll be surprised if you're expecting the same style of play the Badgers have used the last many years under Eaves. We actually play offense now. This team likes to score goals. The Badgers are a team that if they gets one, they usually gets two. If they get three they frequently get five. Once our offense gets humming it becomes really hard to stop. The downside is the defense is still a little iffy and we're young so we a lot of times have bad first periods (no 1-0, 2-1 games for us!).
As to what I think our chances are: The Badgers are very capable of skating with the best teams in the country. They beat BC earlier this year. Should have beaten Denver in a game I think they'd like to have back. Last weekend we split with Minnesota, but I really think we should have swept them. We outplayed the Gophers pretty badly for 4 of the 6 periods but got undone by a bad first period on Friday night. One thing I will say is that the coaching staff has been real good about making adjustments night to night. We haven't lost two games in a row yet this year, so even if we get beat on Thursday, I'd bet on us coming out flying on Saturday.
I think a split is a realistic expectation for the Badgers this weekend. I'd be disappointed if they got swept.
