Well, I did indeed keep you waiting. As you know, I decided to wait until after the Final Face-Off, even though the Buckeyes were eliminated the previous weekend. Be that as it may, The Seven Super Novas is now up on the WCHA thread.Pgb-ohio, thank you for the props! I need to get over to the WCHA Thread and read your three stars. I am already looking forward to your tribute to the seniors. I am sure it will be worth the wait!

Yep! Guess a new hockey arena will get knocked down another rung of the priority ladder. I realize football pays the bills, so I am going to refrain from doing too much ranting on this. Sure puts our hockey programs in a tough spot, though, when they don't have their own building. I actually like the intimacy of the OSU Ice Rink for our women's games. We'll lose that with a new building. However, the atmosphere and being able to be on an equal plane with all the other teams in the league facility-wise would be well worth it. I had a chance to talk to our players yesterday at a great event called Gameday With The Scarlet & Gray, which raises money for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Columbus. The best news of the day was that Kassidy Sauve will definitely be playing next season (I think we actually already knew that) and Jincy Dunne will be suiting up next season!!! Cannot wait to see both of them on the ice. Between Kassidy and the D's we have coming back, we are going to be a tough team to score against next season. I am really looking forward to both of our hockey seasons next year (women's and men's).

Wow, that is bad news. She will be missed. You are correct in that she was a captain. I am not sure of the reasoning. She was going to be a senior this coming season. There is nothing on ohiostatebuckeyes.com, but I saw a story on the UBC athletic website.

Ya that's where I saw it as well. No explanation there either. I'm curious because, no disrespect to CIS, but it seems to be a clear step down for her.

I wouldn't expect the player to provide an explanation publicly. Big loss. Weren't the Buckeyes down to 4-5 D at the end of the season?

Totally agree with the big loss statement. Alexa was a junior captain and a tremendously skilled player who will be sorely missed on the ice as well as off of it. She is a wonderful young lady and I wish her the absolute best at UBC. The Thunderbirds are getting a good one!
