Re: Ohio State vs Minnesota-Duluth 1/25 - 1/26
From what I understand, the extra "Rah" at the end of the Rouser used to be done in the 1960s. It dropped out of favor for many years, but was re-instituted a few years ago by the guy who is the PA announcer for both football and men's hockey. The student section does it, but not many other fans.
I look forward to the Crazy Dave concert. I just hope he doesn't get too far through his playlist.
If he has to do it too many times, he starts to skip the rest and get straight to the spelling.
PGB -- Regarding the "playlist", I'm trying to figure out if you mean the Minnesota school song list (there are 6 that are done regularly, and I know how to sing all of them) or the "heckling the ref" cheer list (a few of which are better saved for men's hockey).Which leads to a vitally important question: At the end of the ritualistic spelling, does the Women's Hockey Crowd include or exclude the "Rah?" IIRC, the Men's Hockey Crowd includes it, but the Football Crowd makes the PA Announcer say it.
