Not only no passion in the third period, but they looked bored. Q came out and wanted to play some hockey while OSU came out and wanted to go home.

Here's an idea for still another alternate jersey - totally plain white with only numbers. No names, no OSU markings of any kind. No scarlet, no gray. When the team decides to play like they did in the third period they should have to wear the plain sweater in the next game - or until they prove they want to represent tOSU. And don't get me started on what the coaches should wear.;)

Sure glad I drove two hours each way in the rain to see the third period.

Everything pretty much has been covered. 3rd period lead lasted 50 secs. Was very surprised to see 3 A's and no C. Maybe our media poster can check on that. It's crazy early but I feel like we need a win tonight.

Also, it was nice to hear some student section noise considering it was pouring rain on Thurs night. Hopefully it will only get bigger and louder.

I was very impressed in the student turnout yesterday on a Thursday rainy night, hopefully it doesn't drop off as the season goes on as it has in the past.

Looks like they are getting things together over there:

"The Block "O" hockey section cheers on the OSU men's ice hockey team at every home game from our new, bigger, FREE student section located in sections 111 and 117.

The student section this year totals about 500 seats right next to the band, plus the entire 200 level if needed. Block "O" will have the first rows of the student section reserved, and getting involved is your ticket to those front row seats!

We have 30 reserved seats in the first few rows for every game, and we are going to be giving them out by a weighted lottery. The more games you attend, the better chance you have of getting a guaranteed front row seat. If you don't get a front row seat through Block "O", hockey is still free for you and you can still sit in the official student section! We have 500 seats and any student can get one by coming to the SW rotunda of the Schott and swiping in for free.

For those concerned about Blockie Points, whenever an OSU hockey game conflicts with another official Block "O" event, you can earn EQUAL Blockie Points for coming to hockey! If you don't get one of the 30 reserved seats, but still want to come to hockey, you can enter using the new free admission and still get credit for coming to the game (for both Blockie Point and hockey purposes)! Be sure to see Ryan at the game if this applies to you.

Check back for road trip information and also information on post-game activities. Remember, the more games you attend, the better your chance to be invited on Block "O" Hockey road trips!"

It was a good game. Ohio State is a good team and will most likely have a successful season. Teams do not get a #17 ranking nationally for nothing. However, Quinnipiac and ECAC Hockey are the real deal :) ! QU is also a highly talented, hard working team who knows how to win. Good luck tonight to both teams!

Guys, What in the heck happened last night???

With the poor performance in the exhibition game you would of thought they would of came out trying to prove something. Quinnie is ok, middle of the pack in the country but a team you should definantly beat.

I would expect a lopsided score tonight, OSU has too much talent to loose to a middle of the pack ECAC team. Heck even a top level ECAC team, we all saw how sub par that conference was in big games.

I'm wrong about one thing or another at least once a week. Glad Toy did not get a DQ. Now will he skate. Folkes needs to be on the ice, he knows a hard check. There were a couple of D-men just didn't do the job last night. Sims, Toy and Bartkowski are not among those.

Well not the way ou want to start a season that should have some promise losing to a mid to low ECAC Team. What happened tonight? I wasnt able to watch on Buckeye vision.

Wows. Tough weekend. Huntsville beats notre too. Did the bucks just not have any heart tonight or was it a game of bad bounces. Definitely didn't help markells tenure

yea sorry about that, I am dumbfounded. Quinnie isn't that great of a team. Is this buckeye team over hyped or just underperforming? With the stretches they showed last year and returning some 21 players from last years roster, I would of thought they would be better than they showed in these two games.

Please tell me your kidding that Huntsville beat Notre Dame, that is ridiculous....well maybe not Huntsville has a chip on their shoulder I guess.

Huntsville beat ND; Tech beat N Mich and Fairbanks beat Mich.
Buckeyes look ready for Denver.

For my money, Heeter looked better than Dusty this weekend. OSU Dmen left Heeter hung out to dry one too many times, the second goal was inevitable.

Can we please just try and play a little more of the game 5 on 5. We need to keep out of the penalty box. :rolleyes:


The core ( Jr's ) of this team needs to step up and take control. If we play like this against Denver next week , they will spank us BIG TIME. :(


Maybe one of the Freshman should wear the " C " on there jersey. :D

I thought coming into the season that if given the chance Heeter would beat out Dusty. I didnt see the game yesterday but in that 3rd period on Thursday the 3rd goal dusty should have stopped. We will probably see both next weekend as well. Remember Heeter beat them last season out there.

Yea 3 big upsets, and not a way you want to start as a conference on opening weekend. We pulled one out in ot, but only ranked team to win on opening night in conference.
