What a game tonight by Frey. He stole that game for the Buckeyes. Wisconsin showed why they are the #8 team in the Country in those last 2 periods. The Buckeyes have to get better in the face off circle tomorrow night. They also have to get better entries into the offensive zone on the PP. They had some good entries tonight but on the last 2 PP's once the initial pressure was cleared they had trouble setting up. 6 Straight without a loss for this team and if they get some help from Minnesota they will be tied for 3rd place with Michigan.

I'll take those ugly wins any day of the week against the 8th-ranked team in the country. Wisconsin carried the play for the last part of the game, but Frey stood tall and made some big saves. I think it was huge that we jumped out to the 2-0 lead. That's a big hill to climb on the road, even for a great team like Wisconsin. If we want to have success tomorrow, though, we will definitely need to clean some things up. I like the way this team plays, though. This team has heart. In other news, danged if I didn't miss both of our goals (entire first period) ... stuck in traffic! Got to our seats during the first intermission and got to see the rest of the game. I expected a better crowd. Guess the weather kept some folks away. According to the box score, there were 4,540 of us in attendance tonight.

Giving up that 2nd goal to go down 2-0 was a killer against a team that plays it tight to the vest like Wisconsin. Frey wasnt his best especially on rebounds. Ohio state got chances to tie it late but Rumple and the Badgers were up to the challenge. The PP had trouble all weekend getting a reentry after the initial push causing that 0-8 on the weekend. Splitting a weekend and series against the #8 team in the Country is not that bad at all. Now a week off then the final 6 game push to the end.

Agreed. Take our 3 points and get healthy again. Never a bad thing to take a split with #8, but the refs were certainly on the WI payroll tonight.

Well it's bye week and time to lick our wounds and get a healthier team hopefully for the final push. Wonder if the polls tonight will show any love finally for Friday's win?

That has been a big mystery lately considering the teams we have beaten and the records of some of the teams that are currently in the poll. I checked this week's polls and we are in the 'others receiving votes' section of the uscho.com poll. We're nowhere to be found in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll, which makes you wonder what season they have been watching. In the PairWise, where it counts, we are tied for 24th with Rensselaer. In the RPI, we are 23rd, and in the KRACH rankings, which I don't really pay much attention to, we are 25th. We are not a finished product yet, but we are certainly moving in the right direction.

It's gonna take some magic to raise the B1G banner for 2013-14 at Yost, but you guys need to sweep the gophers at VCA for us.

We're still in the thick of things as Penn State beat Michigan at the Yost tonight and Wisconsin put the beat down on Sparty.
We definately need to take care of business #AsOne next weekend at the Yost and at Nationwide.
If you didn't make it to the Lady Bucks game tonight, you missed an awesome game and a 2-0 win over North Dakota. Women are back at it tomorrow at 4p at the Ice Rink.
