Ohio State '25-'26 All or Nothing?

We started off doing exceptionally well against former CCHA rivel Northern Michigan earning the sweep.
Tonight was disappointing, we didn't look like we did last weekend and came on late. UConn looked very good and we did well to hang with them on their home ice. Looking for the split tomorrow and we play at a different venue. Maybe that will diminish some of UConn's home ice advantage?

We stepped up our game with more gritty play for the win. Uconn is a very good team and for us to get this win on the road I hope speaks of this teams potential this season.
Go Bucks!

I kind of expected the outcome of tonight's game at Wisconsin, we scored first and never looked back. Why would I be so confident? It's because we're the Badger's jinx winning 11 of the last 13 games and knocking the Badgers out of the Big Ten Tournament twice in the previous two seasons. For whatever reason we just seem to have their number! 😁

Getting 4 points last weekend was a nice bounce back after getting swept at home. The tough November continues this weekend in Ann Arbor. Getting a split would be huge out of that series.

Gave up way to many shots last night to win a game against a team as skilled as Michigan. Eberly kept them in it but im sure he would like that 2nd one back. The penalties need to stop also. If they are undisciplined tonight it might be a blow out.

Weekends like this are a clear indicator of the talent gap between Michigan and Ohio State (outscored 13-3 this weekend). We have a handful of NHL draftees while their team is loaded with them. I am fine with our coaching staff, but they need to step up their recruiting game or we will continue to be a second-tier, also-ran program. This program can and should be better.

Whenever we had the puck in the offensive end Michigan would swarm whoever had the puck while Michigan on offens was allowed to cycle the puck endlessly creating shooting opportunities while we looked for opportunities rather than creating them and on the occasion we had one we couldn't find the back of the net. We've had some great rosters in the past but never on a consistent basis. If a coach can't recruit top talent every year he's limited how he can coach on the ice.
There were only two consolations after Saturday's game and that was the last minute goal ruined the shutout if you can call it a consolation and that out football team will hammer Michigan's next Saturday!

Nothing "consolation" when you get whipped 8-1. I agree with you on football being a consolation if that actually happens, but people were talking the same shit last season and we got beat. I don't think Ryan Day understands the importance of the Michigan game. Jim Tressel and Urban Meyer sure did, and their records in The Game back that up.

The Talent gap is real between those two teams for sure. As was said in a post above you cant let Michigan just skate around with the puck without pressure. I think they gave them way to much respect with the room in the offensive zone. I also thought at times on Saturday they played better than Friday but Michigan took advantage of every chance they were given. The best thing about last weekend is its over and you move on.

It wasn't just a talent gap, our not hitting much to take a player off the puck or not challenging Michigan's puck cycling is under the coach's instructions and style of play he wants. We're out recruited and out coached. I've had former players tell me this program has reached it's limits under the current staff. I'm not sure I like the sound of that but I don't think I have an argument against it. We've had some exceptional rosters but it's not consistent year to year.

Thats where the to much respect for them i talked about they were afraid of making a mistake and having it cost them but in turn that gave them to much room and it still cost them.

I also am worried about the recruiting under this staff they havent got the high end talent the last few cycles and it shows against teams like Michigan and Penn St. Lets see where this season goes but one thing that will have to change is the discipline. This team has been undisciplined all year and penalties took them out of rhythm last weekend both nights. They had played pretty well in each of the first periods until they took those penalties.
