Uhm... not to be extremely picky here, but UNM =/= NMU, and I don't think they have college hockey in New Mexico.

And, really, no one knows why this happens.

Coach isn't the problem. (Remember, you agreed with me about some players just not listening no matter who the coach is in the score thread).



My best guess? It takes till Christmas for everyone to realize what Gustafsson has been saying all season about their efforts.

It's one thing when one or two guys aren't motivated by a coach or just won't listen and shape up. It's another thing when an entire team has a slow and sloppy start season after season. I think that everyone should be concerned about thus year's slow start because of how closely it resembles previous year's starts. I have faith that Walt Kyle can turn the season around and have the team finish in 5th or 6th place in the CCHA, what I am contending is that this year's team should be better than that and a slow start will prevent this from happening.

As much as I don't advocate the firing of Walt, I have to say I somewhat agree with this sentiment. I am discouraged with the team's sloppy play to start the season and obviously would like to see it improve. With the expectations that I (and many NMU fans) held before the season, I would say anything lower than a 4th place CCHA regular season finish (and competing for an at-large NCAA bid) would be a disappointment. I am still hoping that what we saw against BSU was an aberration and the losses to Miami were the result of playing a superior team. NMU badly needs to pick up at least one win this weekend to give the team some much needed confidence.

I think that Reid needs to see both starts this series. Stewart looks very shaky to start the season and could probably use some time off to regain confidence.

Watching Ohio State vs. LSSU, I wasn't impressed with them either game. They split their goalies having a little more luck with Heeter so far this year.

Albert and Sims are doing well offensively but neither one had huge weekends vs. LSSU. I say move the games to the Ice Rink and fill the place.

Censorship? You must be an Obama supporter!!! How childish for those attempting to silence a voice of opposition. This is very dangerous thinking. Heck, at least we're not talking about the **** band this year, yet!!!

There is no reason to question those who are questioning NMU's results thus far into the season. Apparently Coach Kyle is doing the same at the moment and has only mentioned one player thus far by name (Brian Stewart). There are many others who are performing poorly as well. Just look at the stat sheets. Where is the depth and experienced talent on this team? Send out a APB for those who wish to remain anonymous.

NMU needs to be judged by results and the recent trend is really hard to stomach. It was mentioned best that they really need a win this weekend to get the monkey off of their backs. More like a 800 pound gorilla!!!

While it is way too early to give up hope, each and every lost opportunity is indicating that this season could be more of the same. Detroit will be visited as usual, just not on the weekend we all held out hope for this year if they don't start winning soon.

We cannot stand for more excuses as NMU is already 1-3-1 against expected teams under consideration (TUC). It will only get harder trying to get back into contention if success isn't achieved over these next two weeks.

It is time for the players to step up and be not afraid of making mistakes but of continued failure. I hope this doesn't sit well with them and they challenge one another to reach another level...first to last shift and everything in between. Effort, hustle and a physical effort are what is expected.

I know they can do it. We all have witnessed it. It is completely in the players hands to control their own destiny and I hope they want it as badly as many of us do!!!
