Official Watch 12 Year Olds Cry- LLWS 2012

Re: Official Watch 12 Year Olds Cry- LLWS 2012

The ump told the Ugandan coach to stop having the batters look back at the catcher. I didn't think that was a rule, I thought it was just highly frowned upon and a way to get a ball in the face.

I knew this was going to be a good game. The Asian teams always have good pitching, especially Japan.

Re: Official Watch 12 Year Olds Cry- LLWS 2012

The Ugandan team needed all the help they could get.

A good 2-seamer in the back would fix a lot of these issues.

Who the **** is singing "Old Mcdonald had a farm" in the stands?!?!!?

Re: Official Watch 12 Year Olds Cry- LLWS 2012

If I remember the rules correctly from when I played, I believe curfew is 10:30 local time, though we played past that anyway the two times I had night games. Still another hour away, but I wonder if Little League will suspend the curfew or make them play tomorrow morning if the game goes that long.

Re: Official Watch 12 Year Olds Cry- LLWS 2012

I don't think it's going to be an issue. Japan is getting closer and closer to winning this one as the innings go by.

Now that I've said that, Taipei will hit a grand slam in the top of the 9th.

Maybe one of the players is named McDonald. The RPI women's hockey team used to have a player named Nicole McDonald, and when she happened to put the puck in the net, some of the fans would then sing, "Nicole McDonald scored a goal, E-I-E-I-O!"

Japan just left the bases loaded to end the 8th. That might be it for them.

It's Japan - Chinese Taipei. I highly doubt there's someone named McDonald. :p

New Jersey just tried to appeal that the runner left early from first on a fly ball. Only it didn't work. The first base umpire wouldn't make a call. They tried to appeal about seven times but he just stood there and didn't make a call. Only thing I can think of is they never told the umpire what they wanted to appeal, so officially all they were doing was stepping off the mound and throwing to first for no reason.

Another sign stealing controversy. Mexico is accusing Taiwan of saying what pitch is coming while the pitcher is in his wind up. Once again, I didn't think that was illegal.

And a great quote from the umpire: "Now, I can't tell if someone is doing this or not. I don't speak Taiwanese, I don't speak Mexican..."

Re: Official Watch 12 Year Olds Cry- LLWS 2012

We had that crap last night.

That's a jacked up way to get a double play. Ground ball to SS. To 2nd for the first out. The 2B misses the 1B by a mile, and the 1B gets the ball and guns the batter down at 2nd.

It's not illegal...

Want to prevent this? Hide your signs better or tell the pitcher to hide his grip better....

Daddy Coaches are fuggin idiots...

My dad has coached youth baseball for nearly 30 years. One kid's parents complained to my old man that other team was stealing signs. He told the parent he'd address it, but he pulls the kid and the catcher aside and tells them to be smarter about stuff and disguise it.

Uganda wins their first game, 3-2 against Oregon. Just a consolation game, but still a cool moment.

Re: Official Watch 12 Year Olds Cry- LLWS 2012

Okay, I gotta come clean. I got hooked on this stuff this year

International final: Panama-Japan.

From what I've seen, these kids don't seem to quite have the velocity I've seen in the past. I seem to remember a fat kid from Kentucky a few years ago that touched 80, and these kids appear to top out in the mid 60's.

Japan bombs Panama 10-2 and awaits Tennessee-California winner.

I haven't watched much of the American side of the bracket, but my guess is that it's Japan's championship to lose.
