Re: Official Video Games Thread VII: The 7th Generation Comes To A Close

Simpsons update added Friendship level 9. Looks like the reward is finally tie-dye Lisa outfit.

5000 pts to unlock. Should take me about 8 days.

I'm hoping that with the new outfit comes some new missions. I figure it's 7 or 8 days for me to get her, too.

I'm getting this close to dumping TSTO in favor of Family Guy. At least Family Guy is doing something new and interesting. I love the concept of getting items to make new characters and outfits.

Doing the same. Taking a hiatus from Tapped Out. The latest update runs so laggy it's unplayable for me, and I have a freaking HTC One.

My iPhone 5 is struggling with it hardcore right now.

It seems to work on my iphone, but my iPad is really slooow.

I'm not stopping, but I've been missing days regularly.

Yeah, this is my opinion on the game right now too.

Family Guy

Has anyone got a friend added via Facebook yet? I still have none despite inviting people I know play.

Posted this in the book thread also, but figured there was some non-crossover posters that may be interested in this:

Got "Console Wars" by Blake Harris (just released this week) about the home gaming console wars between Nintendo/Sega/etc, mainly centering on the Sega story (so far; am about 1/3 through the book, which to my surprise is quite long: about 500 pages). VERY interesting read so far. Article on it from BBC I saw today:

And should mention that I have also read "Super Mario: How Nintendo Conquered America" by Jeff Ryan which also is an excellent read (some of that story is recapped in Console Wars, of course). The difference between East and West in business practices really contributed to the paths of all companies involved.

Built the 5 million $ cubic zirconia in Simpsons. So I'm done with all the expensive cash items.

The only items I have left to build are in Krustyland. I expected the CZ to take up more area within the map.

Typing of the Dead: Overkill was on sale yesterday so I finally picked it up (along with dlc).

You can play normally or via typing words and phrases to kill all of the zombies.

It's excellent! :)

Simpsons has the Hibbert family available now. Also no crashing since they patched lag and gave free donuts as apology.

Family Guy has a 1 month Egyptian themed event that just started today or yesterday.

Playing Demon Gaze (rpg) on Vita. Made by NIS and is pretty good.

Re: Official Video Games Thread VII: The 7th Generation Comes To A Close

EA Sports has reached an agreement with college football and basketball players for using their likenesses in video games.

If Wilken approves, former players in EA Sports video games since 2003 will be alerted to the availability of payments and will need to register to collect. Each player will use a formula based on how many years they appeared on rosters in EA Sports video games. Lawyers representing to plaintiffs estimate that there are approximately 140,000 to 200,000 annual roster appearances in all three classes.

Some current college athletes would also be due compensation under this proposed settlement and the legal outcome creates a new dilemma in the NCAA’s quest to keep athletes from profiting from the use of their images as athletes.
This is a landmark settlement as college athletes look like they’ll finally claim some money for their NCAA likenesses appearing in video games and it sets up an interesting court battle between O’Bannon and the NCAA in the upcoming antitrust lawsuit that is scheduled to begin on June 9th.

For as much crap as the Wii U is getting, I'll say this: Mario Kart 8 looks bloody awesome.

Did you see the Mercedes free downloadable content?

Tested it in the store last weekend. Totally legit game. Wii U and MK8 are on their way for Father's Day gift to myself. My kid is going to lose his mind when he sees it.

Next Tapped Out update will be Stonecutters related.
