any video tonight, would like to watch while I make lasagna for the family:D??

Re: Official Oswego State 2013-2014 Season Thread - A New Beginning...

Nick Rivait will be out of the lineup tonight due to a minor back injury suffered in practice. Galati is still out with a hamstring injury and Hulshof will probably be out as well with a bum shoulder.

looks to be a pretty good balance of scoring, and the fact that not many have played in all the games may keep them fresh, also coach G seems to roll all 4 lines most of the games, again fresh guys for a aggressive forecheck.could really help in the long run?

I thought it was pretty cool to see the Pathfinder photo with the entire team including those who didnt dress because of injury, etc. At least one dude in a sling. You sometimes build a team starting with the little things......

Re: Official Oswego State 2013-2014 Season Thread - A New Beginning...

Well, Galati did play and scored a goal. Rivait says he should be back this weekend but then again he said Galati probably wouldn't play tonight so take it for what it's worth.

Good game defensively again but their passing is still awful which will be a problem in tight games later in the season. Nice shutout for Gilbert although he did have to work too hard for it. Also nice to see Denton King get his first career goal on a beauty of a wrist shot in the second period.

Gilbert got a shutout against a pretty bad team. He mad a few good saves, but he did a lot of the same scary things he was doing before his injury. Like letting pucks just bounce off of him, giving the opponent an excellent rebound chance. At one point someone fired a wrist shot at him, he caught it and then just dropped the puck at the side of the net...right in from of a CC player.

Don't get me wrong. He played very well in his first game back from injury. I just can't see him being the #1 goalie with Z playing the way he has over the last month.

The offense looked good last night, but the missed passes are getting bad. So many passes hitting skates or going behind the intended target. They do that against Utica again on Saturday and they're going to get burned.

Gilby had some ugh moments for sure last night.

Another comment on the passing, not only are a ton of passes, way in front, in the skates or behind the target, many are right on the tape but not accepted. A ton of passes went right by the receiver or bounced off his stick and away. A team that plays an organic game like Oswego needs to be able to pass the puck or they will have a hard time scoring goals against better teams.

Zawadzki should be the starter hands down. He only let up two goals each against Utica and Plattsburgh, two tough teams. His numbers are way better, against tougher competition. Gilbert let up 3 against Fredonia, who other than us only has 1 win. Not to mention letting up 5 goals on 20 shots against Geneseo

Matt Zawadzki GAA:1.3904 SV% .944
Two toughest teams: Plattsburgh and Utica
Two easiest Teams: Brockport, Curry

Justin Gilbert GAA:2.54 SV% .904
Two toughest teams: Geneseo, Elmira
Two easiest Teams: Connecticut College, Cortland

Just a fact-check: 3 goals against to Platty

the more games they play, the beter the passing should get, also there have been MANY different players playing together, perhaps that has a little to do with it?? Galati, from what I have seen,on the computer is a goal scorer, lets hope he stays healthy and Hushlof comes back soon.I think with those 2 in the lineup,Botten,Neil,Montagna, who has picked up his game big time,Adams and a few others we can make a good run , especially if the d keeps playign well and the netminding stays solid.ps would like to see more of Shultz,he looked talented,Smith has had many scoring chances and needs to bury more of them, but he looks good as well.

Tonight starts 3 games in 5 days on short rest. We will see how well conditioned they are going into the new year I suspect.

the large roster and personnel rotations we have seen thus far should help, no? Naz should be a good setup for the Aud...Salve has had issues, but could be tougher than some expect....there is plenty of motivation to go 3 for 3 - not expecting it, but hoping for the best....

Not to overlook the Nazareth and Salve games, Utica's thread stated that "Olivieri has left the team for personal reasons". He is a very talented defenseman as well as the point on their power play. Huge loss for Utica, and I hope the best for Olivieri, but this improved Oswego's chances to go 3 for 3 in this stretch.

Wait until their fans see him play tonight. I'm sure many don't realize how good of a player George just picked up!
