They upped the bit rate to be close to HD - the cameras are digital SD widescreen - so you can up convert to make the signal "HD like" - and when I was watching the pre-game the pure video quality was great, but the bit rate mismatch made the picture jumpy - I think they took the signal down to switch out the streaming computer....checking back now

That's way too much "inside baseball' for the casual non-Osewgo, non-Oswego student media fan.

Does anyone have any thoughts from the showcase that actually got to see it? The WTOP feed was so jumpy I really couldn't tell what was happening. I could tell the video was high quality pixel-wise though, so whenever they fix the jumpiness issue it'll be really high quality video.

And I couldn't get a WNYO feed either at all.

Evan Schultz was a real standout as was JJ Hart. Most of the new players looked pretty good with a lot of speed. Zawadski was excellent in goal while Jasmin and Gilbert were good but not great. Rivait and Gertsakis along with Rodrigues were solid for the returners but Badham was the real standout amongst that group. I think if the chemistry comes along which it already looks like it is, this group will mature into a pretty good team.

Decent crowd of 2500 for a scrimmage. I thought Hart and Montagna stood out tonight, 2 solid goalies in Zawadzki and Gilbert, a bunch of good skating forwards, and a solid group of defense. I am definitely looking forward to seeing the line combinations Friday, this is a solid group of kids, and have no idea who will be dressing?? Kim-Swallow and Carr did not dress tonight? I think we may see a more physical Laker team than in years past, and it's a good thing they only had one of these scrimmages, they were beating each other up trying to earn a spot in the line up.

Looking at the antics during the post-game skills exposition, I think it's already well on its way.

WTOP issues will be sorted out by midweek - was too busy with them to try WNYO tonight...

I liked what I saw from Wills and Raguseo tonight, that looks like it could have a lot of potential for offense from the blue line, especially on the power play. Real quick release on the shots from Wills, and a strong one-time ability from Raguseo. I was also quite surprised by how physical the play was, it was nice to see a bit more physicality from an Oswego team.

Watching UW-Stout v Marian game, Rjay Berra getting a lot of ice time for Marian with 1 assist. Stout wins 4-3 with 22 sec remaining in OT on a penalty shot!!

WNYO stream worked fine, other than a little over modulation, and my sadness of not being on it. Must be a problem on your end, toto.

Gilby-Zawadzki-Jasmin (Matt moved up the ladder tonight).

I was following the link from the wnyosports.com link which was sent to:
http://www.wnyo.org/webcast-mp3-high.m3u

The link on the WNYO homepage however did work, which was the link that sent me to:
http://www.wnyo.org/webcast-ogg-high.m3u

I wish I had figured that out before the game was over. I thought last year both the OGG and the MP3 feeds worked, but now it looks like only the OGG feed works? I don't know.

It appears they took down the hi-stream, I'll have to let the guys know to change that. Thanks.

Glad I could help. I imagine the new guys are still going to be going to all the away games, yes? WNYO has always been 100% reliable for providing a quality broadcast no matter where they go.

Not a WTOP type performance,but I am sure they will get it right,they always seem to...That said from the little I could see,we have some good skill from a few of the smaller forwrds,nice hands/moves...Waterstreet was much better skater than expected for a big guy...Johnson can skate the puck up, but needs to watch his positioning ...Hart had a great night,and the D will be tough this yr and BIG as well.Rags was impressive on d as well as wills...Zman took the goalie spotlight in the game,Gilbert in the shoot-out..As for the forwards i was to busy trin to find out who was who:eek:....Returners,badham looked good along with P rod.......Couldnt even guess at who will dress the first game,but the second game may tell who are the core guys for Gosek,as I think there will be 10-12 or so guys that will play nightly,and the rest will rotate in and out for the first half of the season ...bottom line we have to see more to know more,the coaches will figure it out I am sure......
