MSU recruit Zeb Knutson had 4 goals last night for the Sioux Falls Stampede, and has 7 in the first 2 games. Is this significant? Not sure, but I wanted to get our thread back on the first page.

He and Franklin are going to be two solid players.

Rumor going around the Zach Lehrke may have to hang his skates up. Very unfortunate, if true.

I also see that JP Burkemper is no longer on the official roster. Unfortunate for a highly talented kid who battled injuries the past two seasons.

Any more insight into the Lehrke info? Playing time? Not excited? Anything?

Sounding like health concerns..non concussion related..long term concerns that may cut his career short.

My source is generally very reliable, but I always take things like this with a bit of caution until it is publicly confirmed. If we don't see him on the ice Sunday, I'd say that something is up.

Terrible news. I wish him the best. As a player, he'll be missed for his solid play at both ends of the ice, but his health is the bigger issue.

This will be a big loss for Minnesota State. Zach is one of the players that should be credited for turning this program around. He will definitely be missed, and I hope he finds a non-player position with the team. I wish him the best of luck going forward.

It is a key loss. That power play of ours was deadly, and he was definitely a part of that. Stepan is going to need to grow up quickly for this team to be a true contender come March and April.

BALE;... it wasn't playing time or not loving the game with Zach........Lehrke has been in pain more of the time than not before ,during, and after workouts, practice, games and in day to day life. He's a quiet guy so didn't say much, but never knows when "seizing full-body cramp" may come about and then the "simple cramps" like his jaws, feet and hands.... He has had meds and blood tests with Neurologists in Fargo, and meds and Neuro-tests at Mankato-Mayo along with an EMG that puts currents thru the muscles to evaluate them...to no avail. Spent time at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester with a Genetistist and Neorologists for 2 days of testing and then had a deep-muscle biopsy taken, but tests could not pinpoint an exact cause to treat. Just saying his condition is not the ordinary athletic induced cramping.
