Official 2012-13 Miami Season Thread: Baby boom!

Worth your time: http://www.buckeyeplanet.com/forum/...sports/629963-2012-13-tosu-mens-hockey-4.html

Miles and miles of butthurt from that twat sterling cooper that used to post here when OSU was #1

https://twitter.com/OSUKnucklebucks .. also worth your time

I know that's not indicative of all buckeyes. The ones on USCHO are level-headed and intelligent. But it still makes me laugh :D

Those are definitely a very "special" group of people. reading those made the night even better

First of all, CCHA champs, baby! Again!

Second, has to be Rico's best coaching and the staff's best recruiting job ever. Filling the holes and pulling this team together was impressive. Say what you want, but bringing in Hagel to help with the youngsters was just a brilliant, brilliant move. That's thinking outside the box. That's leading the program.

Third, please don't waste your time on the three duhOSU hockey fans. Their program is insignificant and worrying about them will just make you crazy. They are meaningless on the college hockey spectrum.

Conference titles and Mason Cups are nice, but now, let's see if we can put a run together and get back to the Frozen Four!

Youngest team in the league is the best team in the league. Hell yeah

As an aside, during the Merrimack/BC game last weekend, CBS had a stat that said BC is the youngest team (by age) in college hockey. Yikes.

there's a number of Buckeyes with a lot of buckeye leaves. Evidently, the only thing you have to do to get a leaf on that mediocre squad is show up to practice.

And be in a conference with "like minded" institutions who believe the key to a successful hockey program is to have uniforms with helmets that emulate their football programs. How long til Minnesota and Wisconsin add a block M and W to their hockey helmets?

What a difference! Giving up the 2nd goal right at the end was frustrating, but otherwise everything seemed to be clicking. Great effort across the board. Hope we can carry that into the tournament!

(However, Why wasn't the trophy in the house? Lame.)

Budget cuts? :)

In actuality, it could have been in one of three destinations. Regardless, that's not the trophy we want though wouldn't it be cool to collect both CCHA trophies for keeps?

It could have, but everyone knew that bringing it to Oxford would have been a good bet. Worst case scenario is that they just don't get to bring it out and have to drive it to Kalamazoo or South Bend later. After all, they lugged that thing to BGSU 3 years ago for us.

Yes, Blasi, Brekke, and Petraglia did a great job this year. Then there are the players who believed. Think about it, you have an early departure who is playng for the Dallas Stars now and Tyler Biggs leaves for the O. Sieloff, Hartman, and Murphy also go to the O and all of them win gold medals at the WJC. That's a lot of talent to lose. That leaves the task of finding guys like Morris, Hagel, and Richart to fill in and some how they do it, and Morris and Richart were late gets. You are picked fourth or fifth. This was probably the most over-achieving Miami team I can remember, at least for the regular season.

Last night was one of those moments you remember. The third period major and 5x3 pk was as loud as I have heard Goggin. A great moment for Miami hockey given what was at stake at the time. One of my all-time favorites (and I have seen them all :) ). And then the post-game, the arms-locked at center ice singing of the fight song completely out of sync with the band. Fun night at the Goggin. Thanks to the coaches and players for another one to remember.

I really wish I could have been there. You could feel the energy coming through the TV, so I can't even imagine how electric it was in person. I'm glad I'll be able to make it for the 2nd round games, but it's always a disappointing crowd with the students on break.

BTW, always good to see a post from you, redeagle!

Much more eloquently stated!

Happy GBD.

Sorely disappointed in the low number of arrests last year, let's hope this year's students are up to the task.

Re: Official 2012-13 Miami Season Thread: Baby boom!

So if all the first round series were sweeps...
1 Miami 11 Michigan State
2 Notre Dame 8 Lake State
3 Western Michigan 7 Michigan
4 Ohio State 5 Ferris State
