Official 2012-13 Miami Season Thread: Baby boom!

Re: Official 2012-13 Miami Season Thread: Baby boom!

Well, I may have to make the trip up next friday. It would be pretty awesome to seal the title at home against tOSU.

Shootout.

An ND win would mean both Western and ND would be alive, but both teams would need sweeps next week and need us to be swept.

A WMU win would mean ND is done, WMU would need a sweep next week, and pray that we don't get 2 points from Ohio State next weekend.

Aaaaaaand WMU and ND trade shootout wins, could this have gone any better?

Re: Official 2012-13 Miami Season Thread: Baby boom!

This be why I avoid MHT at all costs.

I can't say that. I go the MHT whenever i'm feeling down I want to feel better about myself.

That being said, the few people that I've discussed this move with are fully aware of the prestige that the NCHC has the potential to have. When you look at that conference top to bottom, every club has the ability to make the tournament. Can anyone name one other conference that can say that? (this isn't aimed at you, 628. just a general comment)

I bailed on MHT quite a while ago. That site has become a joke.

Yup, driving down to Oxford on Friday. Excitment, excitment, excitment :)

I have hope there is going to be some semblence of the rowdy atmosphere that's been missing from Goggin for a couple years. Here's to that and many celebratory drinks at Circle FRIDAY night.

If the Notre Dame games, coupled with this past weekend's results, were any indication - it would seem we are in for the Ryan McKay show from here on out.

I still question the intelligence of most of the fan base. It may well be rowdy and exciting but not because we have a chance to clench the regular season title. Frankly the team has been exceptional since early January and I wonder if many people realize that. A **** shame NCAA tournament games aren't played at home. That's an instance where even the average fan would no whats at stake. Tournament atmosphere in Goggin would be something to behold....

I'm pretty sure if we make a run in the tournament this year - it will all come back. I know quite a few people (myself included) who really only got into Miami hockey after seeing them play 2 or 3 games on ESPN in the spring. I'm guessing the first round fizzles have cut into that trend of creating new fans.

Agree on McKay, but excitment? How long have you been at Circle for today already? ;)

Re: Official 2012-13 Miami Season Thread: Baby boom!

I really wish I could be back in Ohio for this weekend's series. Obviously we know the Hawks have something to play for, but the Buckeyes will be fighting for both a second round home series AND a chance to spoil the end of our regular season. Should be some high-intensity hockey!

Luckily, my spring break lines up with the second round and championships, so I'll be in Oxford for the best-of-3 and then will hopefully have a reason to trek up to Detroit one last time. Let's go get our **** trophy (x2)!!

Hey Everyone,

Long time lurker, haven't posted in forever but I guess I did previously. I'm loving how this team has been developing throughout the year. With all the youth I didn't have the highest hopes coming into this season, but they keep surprising me.

I was at chicago, and that wasn't much a of a hockey game. So hopefully they get placed in Toledo (or GR) so I can see them in the NCAA tourney this year.

Welcome! Have to agree, Chicago didn't showcase much of anything other than revealing Notre Dame is better at playing dump and chase than us.

Re: Official 2012-13 Miami Season Thread: Baby boom!

Miami got another recruit this time from the Texas Tornado of the NAHL. Article says he will be foregoing his last two years of juniors and will join the team for the 2013-14 season.

Clearly Plano, TX is the new Minneapolis, MN.

And seriously, why isn't Sherwood playing in Youngstown? Good grief, his numbers are just silly.

Long shot, but that would be a trip to have all 3 Jouyaux suited up at once

Re: Official 2012-13 Miami Season Thread: Baby boom!

What's the consensus? Split net time this weekend?

Not sure why we'd change it up for this series in particular. Even the CCHA Tourney i'd expect us to split time. It wouldn't be until the NCAA Regionals that I'd expect to settle in with one goalie - most likely McKay at this point.

How much of a joke is this league? Scoring goals at will can't be helping his development too much...
