That didn't take long. Mr. Miele headed back to the desert, best of luck to him!

@95: brilliant preview of this weekend's slate. Could you apply for a position here at USCHO.com?

Speaking of which...

Staman's article on the FP is totally bogus. 'It's not a beauty pagent!' Yes it is! That is EXACTLY what it is after 4 games! Only 2 fan groups care who #1 is; #1 and #2. We all know that it only matters who's #1 in April. Michigan will lose some day and, when the do, they won't be #1 anymore. But for now, they're playing great D and scoring more than the other guys. Let them have their moment. Here's how nice a guy I am...when they DO lose, I'll even let you say 'I told you so!' But for now, get over it!'

Starman's article had no point and was ridiculous. I thought about replying in the talkback, but decided it didn't even deserve that much of my time.

Oh, and thanks for the props.

Is the Ferris feed any better than the Miami all-access?

Ok, I understand that this team is young, but at a certain point we need to get our sh*t together and start winning some games.

Thought we looked noticeably better tonight...just not there yet.

Could be a long run to Christmas.

Our PK is not good enough this season to overcome taking the most PIM in the country like we've gotten used to, something has to change in that department.

Yet, we never even beat Ferris when we are good, so I'm not putting much stock in this weekend :)

Thanks for posting this, Dom. It's good to see what actually happened on those points.

I'm not sure what's going on in the defensive end right now, but it's hurting us badly. Of course it doesn't help when the team is spending a good portion of the game shorthanded. It looks like we just don't have the stellar PK to make up for taking so many penalties (at least at this point...) and need to cut out the "stupid" ones.

It's a new team and a new year. No Cam Schilling last night so that didn't help us defensively. Between the PK troubles and defensive shakiness, the bottom line is goaltending. Ferris got it last night and we didn't.

Obviously the defense needs to get themselves together, but we still aren't going to win many games by scoring 2 goals. On the bright side, at least we are generally losing by only one goal (obviously not counting ENG's as competitive goals).

Reichard played a pretty good game. The only goal he should have had was the first one. It's not his fault when the defense seemingly forgets about a guy in the slot.

Random observation from listening to the game tonight: Czarnik is already on his second penalty of the year for embellishment, that kid has to stop diving.

Re: Official 2011-2012 Miami Season Thread: Short People Leave Big Shoes to Fill

Tiesling negates a PP for retaliation and then Kennedy gets ejected for "kneeing" when we're about to get a PP leading to a Ferris State PP goal. Not okay.
