Official 2010-2011 Miami season Thread: 3rd times a charm???

Re: Official 2010-2011 Miami season Thread: 3rd times a charm???

According to Heisenberg, Miami received a commitment from Trevor Hamilton, d from Honeybaked. I believe he is a 1995 birth year. Hey '95, that means he was born the year....oh, nevermind. :)

Wow! When I was on campus learning marketing principles from the man himself, Chuck Crespy and John R. Walton were still teaching!

Speaking of John Walton...John T. in this case, don't know if you caught the AHL All-Star game, but John was doing a series of great in-game and intermission interviews and sideline stuff with Doc Emerick doing PBP. Don't recall who was the analyst. Great thrill for John I know. I spoke with him the other day.

Oh, and what do we know about Hamilton?

Well, here's something from The Scouting News..."1995 DOB - D - Honeybaked prospect can brutalize kids on the boards, in front of the net and pretty much all over the ice because he is big, tough and very aggressive ... "

Ha well scouting news is pretty spot on. I came on to post about him. He was in town for the midget tourny last year but I saw him played in a prospects tourny that I worked earlier this season. I would add two things to that report, He has pretty good vision of the ice for a player of his age and moves the puck pretty well. They are spot on with his size and being aggressive but he can be with as good of a skater as he is. Really really good get for Miami to have him come here over a Michigan school. While we lost some things when Berg left but one thing hasn't changed the talent that is coming to oxford continues to not only get better but stay consistantly good.

Re: Official 2010-2011 Miami season Thread: 3rd times a charm???

“I think that Miele guy, he’s the only one who can really do things himself,” Hagelin said. “Other than that, they’re not a great offensive team.”

seriously might be the dumbest quote I have ever read...Maybe that is there problem they obviously didn't watch any tape because if he had he might of noticed that Carter Camper is pretty solid (47 pts and second in the country in scoring) and not to mention cannone (who schooled their best defenseman on friday to set up the game winner) and Reily Smith one of the best snipers in the league and over 30 pts this year...But what can you expect from a european....

Others have answered. Hamilton is not quite the height/weight they are quoting, but he is close, and he is solid. Always a little risky with a 15 year old, but others were interested in him already, so a good get for MU, IMO.

I missed JT on the AHL All Star game. Mrs. redeagle took the message and somehow it got lost in translation. She knew he was doing something, but could not remember what. Oh well, we'll get JT in the AHL playoffs this year again, I hope. I enjoyed that last year since he used to do play-by-play for floor/hall hockey games in my house. :)

You have no idea. Imagine playing Strat-o-matic/Rotisserie baseball and hockey with him! Man, I miss Strat-o-matic hockey!

Doesn't sound like former Miami commit, Shane Berschbach, is going to see action this weekend. That really hurts the Broncos.

Works for me, they have little offense to begin with, that only helps. Western has been playing great team defence recently with Kuhn in between the pipes, but that's with them playing most of the bottom half of the league and national power Union .

Lets bring home another 2 wins this weekend. Hopefully not needing 2 goals in 22 seconds this time though.

Miami is 15-2-1 in the last 18 against Western. No losses in regulation in the last 12 games in Oxford (one OT loss at the old Goggin).

It looks like you guys are going to raise thousands of dollars for the Brendan Burke Memorial Scholarship through the auction of those sweet jerseys from last weekend. Great job for a great cause. And they're not just game worn sweaters, but game WON sweaters! I trust you have all placed a bid on one or two!

I placed a couple bids but threw in the towel once I realized I was bidding against Ryan Jones . Really wanted one but they are a little beyond my student budget, great to see them going for so much though.

He could have bought his senior year sweater for much less than he's bidding now :D

$10,825 right now for the lot with two more days left.

You would know! But, yeah, these are in the stratosphere...most are north of $450 and some north of $600. Though it's for a good cause, I have to pass on that.

I think VAIVE can make it to 700.

Can't believe it is my last home series as a student already, time flies.

Dibs on your seat :) LOL. Jk. Thanks for introducing me to Miami Hockey this season! Whenever you come back to visit i'll buy you a pizza

Big Big weekend. I know coaches say "take it one game at a time" but these guys have definitely been keeping up to date on the PWR. It should be interesting to see how they respond. Hopefully they can keep building on last weekend, Go Hawks!

Need to sweep. Especially with just two regular season games remaining after this weekend.

Re: Official 2010-2011 Miami season Thread: 3rd times a charm???

Well.. even though that game went down as a tie and wont kill us in the PWR it sure does say a lot about the team. Who is going to be the leader? Who is going to stop these third period meltdowns?
