It could have been 4-1, but they also had two goals called would-be-goals called back. I'm not by any means saying they should have been allowed, but if us not scoring in an open goal is a close call, the two goals called back should be called close as well...

So it could have been 4-1, or 4-2, or 3-3, or even 3-4

Any way you look at it... it was a close game.

It was a close game but last year sort of was too, just add the empty net goal. I think Bentley plays up to NU. I would too.

I don't get too worried about these sorts of games, get the wins and let's move on.

0-2 this weekend? Then we have a problem...

I said it earlier.... I'm feeling a win against UNH, and a tie against Lowell.

I'm also feeling biased, optimistic, and everything else that would lead me to expect 3 points tonight rather than hope for it.

Oh give your hockey team a little more credit than a one in a million chance of 3 points this weekend :-)

I like what I see from Rawlings so far (that he's improving, I mean...)

I love what I'm seeing from everyone else.

I say 3 points this weekend.

In Hockey East.. absolutely, on any given night.. i give you that.

Even with that though.. i somehow thought (wished i should say..), a better.. more lop sided result against Bentley.. at home. After that gm.. for now i have begun to temper my expectation for the nxt few gms, until they get their lines adjusted..etc

We were missing a couple studs to... swine? or whatever else it was...

We'll see what happens. Also curious to see what happens tomorrow night with BU and ND. Will BU be able to step it up? Or ND for that matter?

Try to remember that the two goals that were called were carefully reviewed on the videotape facilities that we have. The were both kicked or deflected in off skates. Happily, technology trumped the naked eye. "Close" only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades. Bentley simply didn't score the goals legally. They actually scored two goals and that wasn't as many as NU.

The new equipment that came with the renovation may have paid its first dividend to the hockey program.;)

I totally agree with you that those were not goals. Just saying, they were close calls, just like our should-be open net goal was a close call.

I agree... better opportunities to review the plays could have made the difference between a loss/tie and our win.

A good showing this weekend would really set us up well for the coming weeks. bu has looked weak, so if we can get rolling, I could see an upset. On the other hand, we could suck, here's to the most interesting husky hockey season in recent memory.

Man between the pipes has gotta have broad shoulders.. (i know, he's got broad shoulders :)).. he's just got to have the confidence his predecessor showed.

Might take a few gms, but i already see him improving

Notwithstanding the shutout win, BU was not easy for ND to play against. I was very impressed by the strength of the Terriers along the boards—owning play in the corners is one of the cornerstones of ND's play under Jeff Jackson, and BU was largely able to neutralize that, possibly because they play with a similar emphasis; I noticed they were also excellent in that regard last season.

Also, notwithstanding the 0-fer of the BU power play, they seemed to have some very good ideas on how to attack the ND penalty kill by the last couple of PPs, and were really close to knocking something in. I didn't see the UAH games, but by the end of the game BU had looked a lot more effective a man up than PC ever did.

Well they certainly had plenty of time to study up on it. The shot count is misleading I think, as ND defenders must have blocked at least 10 or 15.

anyone know where I can buy a black hockey jersey? I'd like to get one before hitting the road to UNH on friday... Did I see a booth at the gym that was selling stuff like that?

As far as I know, the Marino booth only has tee-shirts and polo shirts. I don't know of any place other than Matthews that is selling them. That said, I haven't been to the school store in 6 months.

Don't forget everything will be +5 hours here so when it's 7:00PM there it is midnight here so I will be watching stats when I return from the UKPatriots party. On saturday night, after I meet Bob and Jon Kraft as well at Pat Patriot and the NE Patriots cheerleaders at the UKPatriots second party, I'll he watching stats there also.

Well... I just bought a jersey from Marino (thanks!) but the only one yet had left was the one on display.

Black jerseys are the way to go... So much more bada$s...

I'll be breaking it in tmrw at UNH.... Wish I could see the game at Lowell too but as someone mentioned, the Jimmy Fallon thing is going on and Im headed there instead.

How big of a crowd are we bringing to UNH? Seems like there's a lot more talk about Lowell, even though I think both will be tough/good games
