Here's the article... not sure why it wont work for u

WRBB has confirmed from a source familiar with the team that Steve Quailer suffered an ACL injury during the teams exhibition game against St. Thomas. At this time it is not known if Quailer will need surgery or not; or the severity of the injury. Quailer was seen on campus walking without crutches.

However if it is a torn ACL the timetable is generally 6-7 months without strain on knee. Someone of Quailer’s physical ability might be able to shorten that by a few months if rehab goes well. If it is only an ACL strain the timetable for return could be as short as two months.

Last season with the Huskies, Quailer scored 10 goals and added 15 assists. Quailer was named to the 2008 Hockey East All-Rookie Team. Quailer was also a 2008 Montreal Canadiens 3rd round draft pick.

Stay tuned to WRBB for further details

Re: Official 2009-2010 Northeastern University Huskies Season Thread - Life Post Thiessen

So in the first 2 months of our season.. (taking a best case scenario for Qualier's comeback.. which, with an ACL injury is very tricky anyway..).. we play:

Colorado Coll, UNH, Lowell, BC, BU, Maine, Providence, Vermont, Mack.. among others..

all these gms (sometimes playing opponent twice)... all before Christmas..

..now usually i'm a 'glass half full' kinda person.. but what a nightmare!!! (someone feel free to chime in something positive, anytime now)

Tough break & again, wishing Steve well & hoping one or more of the freshman step in & step up (as they'll have to now, with added ice time i'm sure).

So now well really get to see which of our new young talent is going to step it up...

I guess well have to pay to watch this game online? Anyone use the service before? I think I remember it being only pc-compatible...

Well... On another note this may be the longest NU has been on the main page...

WRBB reports Cronin said Quailer out indefinitely... eek. Who thinks we'll play those Canadian goons again?

Who do we think will step into Quailer's shoes? Too bad Justin Daniels hurt himself as well...

Re: Official 2009-2010 Northeastern University Huskies Season Thread - Life Post Thiessen

Justin Daniels will be back sooner rather than later. He skated for about 45 minutes prior to practice and boy can he fly. Reminds me of a healthy Mike Morris. He practiced many different shots ; hard to believe that he is still injured.
Steve Quailer was in good spirits with a brace on his knee. Good to see David Strathman. Players must have shot 500 times at Chris Rawlings. I am certainly no expert a goal tending play, but Bryan Mountain appeared to be the quickest. I think he will be no less than a #2 goalie before long. Garrett Vermeersch and Robbie Vrolyk are great talents and I hope they continue to play on Chris Donovan's line.

This isn't worth much but I talked to a hockey player in the dining hall tonight and I asked him how Quailer was doing and he said the following, "Uh... I think he's out for the season?.... He might be out for only four months, I don't think they have decided yet."

So, take that for what it's worth...

Normally indefinitely means, it looks torn, it feels torn, the MRI was inconclusive, lets hope that its a sprain. If he didn't hear a pop, there is a good chance his acl didn't rupture, but only time will tell. In any event, it looks like we won't be counting on him to be back anytime soon. All I can do at this point is put my faith in Cronin. I don't have expectations of a 25 win season this year, but the freshman class is very talented, and I've seen Justin Daniels play at Kent Prep and the kid was a beast. I leave you with this, on the goaltending front:

Here is INCH's goaltending recruit rankings from the start of the '06 season:

1. Joe Palmer - Ohio State
2. Alex Stalock - UMD
3. Brian Foster - UNH
4. Jase Weslosky - St. Cloud State
5. Zach Kleimann - Quinnipiac
6. Brett Bennett - BU
7. Ryan Simpson - PC
8. Anthony Grieco - UND
9. Dan Meyers - UMass
10. Kain Tisi - St. Lawrence

So who is missing? well its that guy who just backstopped us to our first NCAA birth in over ten years and was a hobey hatrick finalist. The point is, we have to trust in Cronin's recruiting and he has shown that he finds talent where no one else is looking. Rawlings may turn out to be a stud, but don't dismiss Mountain either. (Ok you can dismiss Binnington, but thats it)

Outlook: Despite the uncertainty in goal, coach Greg Cronin believes his Huskies can be better than last year. “It might be a bold statement,’’ he said, “but I think our talent level is better. Our biggest challenge is sorting that [goaltending] out.’’
From the Boston Globe's 2nd place prediction in HE.

I like the optimism, we'll see, all depends on the goalie play, I agree though, we are very talented, especially our younger players. We just need to mold that talent into our system and we could be a late bloomer this year. Puck drops tonight, I'd imagine Rawlings would get the start, I hope we see some of mountain though, if not tonight then saturday. hoping for 3 points, expecting two.

edit: just found a very nice highlight reel from the 08 09 season on youtube:

I'm going to say it's already time to take Rawlings out...

"2 shots, 2 freshmen, 2 goals"

Watching on b2tv.com now...

Not feeling so hot at the moment. Lets see what Mountain has to offer???
