NU vs BC 2/19 and 2/21

Re: NU vs BC 2/19 and 2/21

NU has won four in a row and are 7-2 in their last nine. I'm sure that has BC's attention.

Re: NU vs BC 2/19 and 2/21

BC has scored 3 goals in their last 2 gms.. which (for their offensive talent).. is paltry.

Sooner or later, they are due. I am sure that has NU's attention. :)

A little help/advice please. I haven't been to Mathews in several years. Is there adaquate parking nearby? And if I get there a little early is there someplace within a few minutes walk that I can get a beer? (or two)?;)

There are meters around, but the best bet is probably a garage. If you park in the Marriott, the new Champions is great for a beer. Thousands of TV's and the biggest big screen I've ever seen. Much better than the old Champions.

If you go in St. Botolph St. off of Mass. Ave. (Matthews will be immediately on your left), there is a parking garage just after Matthews on the left. Probably $25. to park.

Free Parking is on Columbus Ave. Follow down about 1/8 mile and turn into Northeastern property on the right. Free park and take the pedestrian bridge over the 'T' tracks to Matthews (very short walk).

There is also an Uno's with a bar quite close, along with the normal college bars Our House East, Conor Larkins all within short walks...

How new is the new Champions? I was there probably 2 years ago and it wasn't worth going to again IMO, if it's improved now I'll probably stop by before the NU BU game in a couple weeks.

The Camden parking lot is open and free for games. You go towards the parking garage on columbus and insttead of going into the garage, go to the right underneath the squash busters gym, and follow that to the parking.

Re: NU vs BC 2/19 and 2/21

I hate bc. And bu. Go Huskies. I want bc to fail at everything. That would make me feel better.

Re: NU vs BC 2/19 and 2/21

Thank you. I'm in a bad mood and I want banter. Horrible banter, any banter for that matter. Muse smells like a rotting cheese roll.

Banter shouldn't be that hard with the BC crowd. Just ask Nick about his elephant walk escapades, throw out a few typos for Tony to correct and tell steveF he is an unoriginal bastard. They will come flocking.:D

I went there soon after the renovations. My group had mixed reviews. The general thought was, if you liked the original Champions, you won't like this one, and if you hated the original Champions, you'll probably like this one. It seems a lot more like a hotel bar now...

Re: NU vs BC 2/19 and 2/21

well, knock yourself out then. I had access to tickets to this game and not having gone to matthews arena for quite some time i was looking forward to seeing all the work done to it............. and it should be a great game. NU certainly playing their best so far year. anyone know if matt price is playing?

Re: NU vs BC 2/19 and 2/21

Hey, Punters is cool (well, was alright with the football/ hockey crowd once a long time ago..) :) I still remember the food being passed through the (hell) hole in the wall.. literally :)

Re: NU vs BC 2/19 and 2/21

Did i mention.. 'Punters' was also cool when we actually had Punters.. sigh..

perhaps NU football comes back when we build something on campus.. circa 2025, 2030.. hey, don't lose hope! :)

No, jcarter, we go at the UVM fans because they're stupid. NU fans on here I have no problem with. Go away.

I believe Price will be out, but this is unconfirmed.

You should try Punters. Wait, you wanted to go to a good bar? OK, stay away from that hell hole.

Punters= RIP. I walk past its former site pretty frequently as I am a "Big Brother" to a kid who lives down by Brigham Circle. All the signage is still up, too. Sad.

Definitely worth checking out, in my opinion. Even just to compare and contrast with the old one.
